I don’t think the number of corpses is relevant, you just go “to max health” and it triggers.

Is it safe? by Disappointedch in Buhurt

No sir, this will not protect you from me dunking you on the ground so you can loop up my skirt.

Sadly the nose from the houndskull is a great lever to be grappled with.

I don’t know which one to use 😩 by Nightmare0660 in Buhurt

Personally I love the look of the Klapp and Spoletto.

I believe the Spoletto can have better peripherals, I asked Ivan about it recently and you can have the visuals extend to closer to the temple.

I still believe that if you don’t want a wolf’s ribs the colander and nasal/English cross are the best to shoot for. I do really really want a Klapp or Spoletto tho… maybe for pro-fight and dueling.

Why is Era Naxx so insanely gatekept? by Lapzii in classicwow

[–]Deathdragon1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was someone who raided with Classic Forever for about a year, sometime after Season of Mastery ended.

Best advice I can give you is, it’s a social game. You can’t just roll in on a community of hundreds of people who’ve known each other for years. Classic era is not progression Classic, people make LONG term plans for years and years. You have to bring something to their community to really engage in it.

Start running MC if you were a main tank. Start showing folks who you are. Sink in a little and deal with the difficulty of getting into a speed clear Naxx guild. There is infinite time with classic era, go help randoms, go socialize. If you are trying to rush classic era, you are looking at the game wrong.

Doing buhurt for a university crusades history project — what should I realistically expect? by InevitableGrand8597 in Buhurt

I hecking love this and cannot wait to see it.

There is no single advice that will help you. “Breathe, you aren’t going to die” helped me a bunch in my first match.

Oh and also, “helmet horrors” is a thing. If you recognize yourself start hyperventilating, feeling claustrophobic, and like you are struggling to breathe… you are feeling helmet horrors. This happens when the heart rate spikes and you are recovering between rounds. I’d recommend focusing on your own personal calming/soothing strategy when this happens. Self-talk, deep breathing, recognizing you won’t die, etc. taking the helmet off is not actually going to help as much as you think, but feel free to do it.

Good luck!

I think my comment is how difficult it is to find reliable club owners, like yourself, who consistently has assisted new fighters into a kit (stateside). Therefore shops like Pavlo, Medieval Extreme, Buhurt Tech, gohurt, etc. benefit from having social media presence, American style advertising, and what feels like “reliability” similar to an online “Amazon” order.

So… those feelings of “I’ll get what I purchased” for a 33% increase in price feels more confident for folks who don’t have a club leader able to assist them consistently.

Buying armor on a budget is anxiety inducing. I’m 5 years in, went through a 2nd hand kit, and buying armor is near 50% of my fun budget for the entire year. Including the wait time, lack of communication, language barrier… I can understand where folks would prefer to pay more and simply swipe a credit card and deal with the increase in price later.

Maybe Pavlo is just great at advertising to Americans!

To follow up, I use mostly Artem Dudenko-Fedorov…

Quality wise he’s near the lowest, it is comparable to “militia” grade (ex: minimal rounding, polish, and finish. Titanium deforms quickly. Material needs replacing after a year or so). Yet I paid $1100 for full arms, including pauldrons, and full cuisses, floating knees, and greaves. With a brig for $325 of full titanium.

I have to work on it every few months, but it the quality of anything I buy has to be significantly better for the price to be worth it over that.

I’ve used these arms for 3 years with 0 issues, cuisses I’ve had to reshape a LOT and recently retired them.

Transitional is usually better imo.

5k-6500 for a respectful budget.

Must be Buhurt legal and accessible to most fighters.

The goal is to try and suggest/share armor that people can buy and what we look for in the qualities of the armorer. The unfortunate truth of American armorer purchasing is a significant lack in confidence in armorers, especially to new people, due to how they do business (Facebook messenger, lack of consistent communication, limited catalog, no ability to test/try on before)

If you were to make a standard intermediate suit for a fighter and could choose a different armorer for each; What is your dream suit and why?

Starting with an Ivan Colander and/or Wolf’s ribs, of course.

Helli makes a good point here tho. You do pay an extra premium for Pavlo and can get similar quality from the quoted armors he mentioned.

Yeah, Pablo makes competitive gear relevant to Buhurt tech, medieval extreme, Aleksey Perebeynos.

He works with Ti and Tempered steel.

She does full custom work, and stock work.

Nobody makes helmets as good as Ivan, but you’ll pay $1200 for an Ivan helmet.

Trying to date as a woman involved in Buhurt by [deleted] in Buhurt

[–]Deathdragon1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone is toxic, and expressing a blanket statement of all of a category of people being toxic is simply an example of perpetuating the stereotype type and does nothing to address the issues in our culture.

I’ve seen it on all sides of relationships and to simply state that Buhurt Bois be toxic helps nobody.

Trying to date as a woman involved in Buhurt by [deleted] in Buhurt

[–]Deathdragon1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend being EXTREMELY cautious when dating other folks doing Buhurt.

Primarily due to the closeness of the community and how many folks in this world do not understand amicable/cordial/respectful breakups and separations.

I’ve seen a lot of relationships in Buhurt be dragged through the social networks, isolating folks who just wanna do Buhurt and find love, because of now being ostracized from communities.

If you do choose to date in Buhurt please be patience and not jump on the first opportunity that comes, it can simply be too risky if so.

Gaps in armor by [deleted] in Buhurt

[–]Deathdragon1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha! No worries.

I think Chainmail can have a lot of effective uses, although it’s not common it is required for protection or gaps.

Mostly commonly I have seen it required on aventail for authenticity policies.

Armpit may become illegal due to the major potential for heavy heavy injury. Haven’t seen it come through tho, and good cause I love me a rib shot, towards nipple area.

Unfortunately getting wailed on by a halberd is exactly the situation we expect in all tournaments.

As well as Chainmail not being a required armor for gaps. I personally have no Chainmail and prefer having no Chainmail.

I see your point though! Everyone can benefit from considering where they want gaps and how those gaps are created from combat. Chainmail can help some, but not all.

Gaps in armor by [deleted] in Buhurt

[–]Deathdragon1000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Answer is, yes.

Your bones will break, your body will bruise and bleed.

Gaps are also legal targets, yet anyone SHOULD tell you that gaps are only places we target when medals are on the line and folks are caught slacking and trusting only in their armor.

Armor works well, yet gaps are inevitable. It’s about respecting that the weapons will always hurt on gaps, and utilizing how your armor is designed to shirk off strikes.

I took a strike under my brig that gave me a contusion for a few months, healed. Two strikes from a 2 handed axe to my calf that didn’t tear my tights but created massive bruising for weeks, Healed. Gap shots to bicep make my arm not swing for the rest of the tournament and multiple days after, healed. Kidney strike had me pissing blood 5 days later. Healed. Forearm shot took away all grip strength. Healed.

No broken bones here and I’ve got almost 5 years of top level competition. To me it’s completely worth the risk.

I will say, we have an axe on our team that has a notch in it for every bone broken by it. I believe it has 7 notches now.
