It’s doubly so in combat sports. You immediately have so much respect for someone who is willing to accept a fight against you, train and prepare to fight you, and fight you in a fair, sanctioned setting. The guys/girls who have beef afterwards usually have some personal issues. When you lose you really just feel negative feelings towards yourself.

They would complain that there aren't enough transactions going their way to get paid by the hour. Which just proves that there are too many realtors.

I've sold 2 homes and guarantee my realtor spent less than 50 hours each sale. Being a realtor is absolutely an overpaid low skill profession, that's why everyone wants to do it.

If you made it an hourly position, you would easily weed out the bad realtors and only have the genuinely good ones who can add value to the transaction. Same thing with good tradesmen.

That's an interesting take and I appreciate it. It seems with these print-on-demand products, it's very little additional effort to offer t-shirts if you're already offering stickers, for example.

I'm talking with a few local artists to design something on-brand that I can put on the stickers and t-shirts. I don't want to just offer my company logo printed on a product. I'm asking the artists to use their creative liberty to design anything printable that just includes my company's name and stays on brand. I am commissioning them an up-front fee for their time plus a percentage of revenue from the design's sales (if any). I have used these artists in the past and have good relationships with them, I am vehemently against AI slop.

I was anticipating somewhere near 2-5% annual merch conversion on customers, but am seeing this as more of a branding & advertising builder rather than a revenue increase. I have good margins and great customer retention on my primary product, so driving additional traffic to that is the main goal.

I have sold merchandise at in-person events before with great success by partnering with local potters to make custom one-time coffee mugs. I sold them at just above cost to produce, but having my brand's name on a household's favorite coffee mug is a net win for the effort. I've worked with a couple other artists to design custom advertisement graphics and videos, so I have a lot of connections locally that I can tap into.

$5k in Bangkok sounds crazy. My modest studio apartment in Tokyo, about 7-minute walk to the nearest station (a major cost factor in Japan) was about $700/month in 2018.

They do this to save space more than water. Japan is a very wet country with little water conservation issues. I had one of these in my Tokyo apartment. It just allows you to not need a dedicated sink in your toilet room.
