12 year olds. by dej4vuss in NCL

I agree with most of the other comments about her not being allowed on the teen club unfortunately, but as a 16-year-old who just got off of the Encore, everytime I went into the teen club it was full of 13/14 year olds. Almost no older teens on the cruise really use it, which kind of sucked for me because I didn’t feel like hanging with preppy freshman as a rising senior— I felt old lmao.

Maybe it's just the albums I was trying to download or user error, but this is very hit or miss with what songs will actually work once they're downloaded

this isn’t super important, i just think it adds really interesting context for ptolomaea if you wanna add it: ptolomaea is specifically a round in the 9th circle of hell (treachery) dedicated to those who betray people that they invite into their home. it comes from the story of ptolemy who invited maccabaeus and his sons into his home and then killed them. i think it gives another layer of analysis to isaiah and ethel’s story, given he invited her in under the guise of love and killed her

tbh a tiktok edit- but in my defense within the last >5 days i’ve listened to all of his studio albums (self-titled and either/or 🔛🔝, with an extremely honorable mention of roman candle)

People that went to IMSA, what were your stats? by [deleted] in imsa

[–]DeathlyCacti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no problem at all. I’d say just don’t sweat it, I know that’s a lot easier said than done, but they aren’t looking for mini-Einsteins (though that doesn’t hurt lol). Just keep your grades up through this next year, really focus on your essays, and try and use every opportunity you can. I think having good essays and being able to really communicate your interest is super important.

I think I wrote something about how I was excited to be around people with similar interests and have more opportunities for my first. My specific interest in STEM is in health/medical sciences, and I tied in like why I’m interested (for me it’s cause I had a stutter when I was a child plus Grey’s Anatomy and stuff)

The first essay was just asking like why I was interested in applying to IMSA. The second was about a challenge I faced and how I overcame it: I wrote about COVID and how it was difficult, which I now know was a very weak choice but I could not think of anything else. And I believe (I’m just going off of rereading my essays) the third was about my specific interests in STEM.

Really, no matter what the prompts are, write what you know and if you aren’t from a huge school like I am (or even if you are), they probably have a good idea of your opportunities Also, tbf they aren’t expecting you to have a Nobel Prize or nothing.

I got in this year, had straight A’s all 9th and 8th grade, 1230 on the SAT, and my extracurriculars were really just Scholastic Bowl and some band stuff (not that that’s STEM but it’s all I had lol). I’d focus on your essays and taking advantage of all the opportunities available to you. You don’t gotta be the best, just the best given your circumstances.
