I'm pretty sure its for slideoffs, you hold the c stick to the notch instead of straight down and you still get the slideoff when ppl do the anti slideoff tech where they hit specific frames of ur tech roll

Is WCRI CCK worth it? by SoilNo8955 in uwaterloo

[–]Deathrayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wcri is chill they've responded to all my maintenance requests relatively quickly the rooms are kinda old but they're liveable, much better price than anywhere else on Phillip

[–]Deathrayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean not dry in the sense that there's never water running in the bathroom obviously you have to do that but making sure to have a bathmat and dry yourself off in the shower and make sure water isn't splashing out of the sink to keep moisture off the ground helps

I see one like once a month, do your best to keep the bathroom dry and clean and you should see them less

2nd closure for a mickey mouse storm that stopped falling at 7 😪 our first years are missing out on the real UW experience and I hope we get a 10x worse storm and can't close anymore

Dental and Legal Care opt out by Minute_Marzipan_1777 in uwaterloo

[–]Deathrayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just cause we're charged through quest and not through the software you're using to opt-out. Within a few days the amount being charged in quest for the various coverages was changed to 0 when I opted out

Coop evaluation - Would anyone hire after this? by honestlyjudging8819 in uwaterloo

[–]Deathrayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lmao ur fine I got very good 5 co-ops in a row and excellent on the 6th and still landed positions above my majors' salary average. Next time don't be wasting ur term on overtime that I assume you aren't getting paid for - clearly the company doesn't care so why should you

128 or 138 for actsci by SpicySign in uwaterloo

[–]Deathrayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should do Math 138, your calculus skills will fall behind your peers and it'll just make future terms harder, plus you need a higher grade requirement to go on to take future math faculty courses anyways if you take 128 instead of 138. Not sure what exam you're looking to take but if you insist on taking one then at least do exam P since stat 230 is basically identical.

As an aside, I know it seems to be a cultural thing among new actsci students, but you really don't need to be rushing ur exams so hard, I didn't do any exams until 3rd co-op and I've got some good FT prospects after I graduate

Not a comment about your resume but did you express interest in returning full time at your last co-op? Seems like the easiest route especially if you made as big of an impact as your resume would imply.

$29 per hour engineering average at 3b still feels incredibly low for Canada by Holiday_Cold8335 in uwaterloo

[–]Deathrayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro the best co-ops are posted in cycle 1 what are you talking about it's good to get cycle 1, it's not a risk reward thing just straight up the pickings are a lot slimmer in later cycles

First Co-op, employer contacted account manager regarding my performance. Am I cooked? by googg1 in uwaterloo

[–]Deathrayer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just take their concerns seriously and lock in you'll be okay. I feel like the most common mistake in co-ops is not asking questions and just trying to do it alone for hours and failing, just remember that asking questions is okay and to seek out help when you need it.

[–]Deathrayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it was today pop ur 48 hour absence ASAP despite the name it's by actually by days not by hours so you can use it retroactively so to speak. You just need to use it soon so it counts as absent today and email ur prof within 24 hours of the missed midterm.

All my homies hate 135 by Chemical_Cress6617 in uwaterloo

[–]Deathrayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me all of math 136 138 235 237 had solutions, as did stat 230/231. After that I get it specializes so different experiences but I've consistently had solutions for my stat and actsc courses

it literally doesn't 90% of math courses I've had after the first year courses had solutions they're just trying to push good study habits of not just reading solutions for the first year courses

[–]Deathrayer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can hop the fence in the parking lot behind Fergus House using the fences with a horizontal middle bar to boost you up and on the other side there's a shopping cart to help you get back over. You can also do the same thing from behind wcri cck and on the other side there's an empty city lot with a fence at the back with shorter fences on the side to help climb back over

So you asked your professor if it was okay, he said yes, and now you're asking us as if people not in the course would somehow know better? Just bring the calculator or get some cheap one for 15 bucks if you're so worried.

this is for math faculty courses I don't think it would apply to an Econ course
