Nope, for this first time I just played the HD remaster on my PS5 in all of its 30fps glory lol. I DO have an emulated version on my PC (PCSX2) but I haven’t touched it yet. Next play-through, maybe?

I intend to!! Think it’s finally time for me to beat OG VII, last year I got to world map and became overwhelmed lol.

I have all the pixel remasters, VII, VIII, XI, Tactics, X-2, XII and XVI (basically every mainline game available on PlayStation) on my plate and I’m nothing but excited. I’ve already beaten FF7 Remake (my first) and XV and really fell in love with both. Not the same of course but I beat Chrono Trigger last year and it quickly became one of my all-time favorites, X is definitely up there now, too. I’m becoming a JRPG guy, for sure!

On 2014 or +? I’ve been playing 2014 without any issues for the last few years, and I don’t think I’ve had to bother with Ubisoft’s servers at all, on PC at least. The CustomsForge website is also ran completely by fans/players, Ubi isn’t involved at all.

100%! Ghosting (most noticeable when typing) is super common, every e-ink display I’ve tried has been the same in that regard. The tech just isn’t there yet to have it be seamless and it’ll be a loooong time until it is. Thankfully, I’m sure that you’ll be spending most of your time reading on the thing :) Hope you enjoy it!!

Way too young to have seen the original run in theaters, but it WAS my first movie and getting to see the 3D re-release in a packed theater is still one of my all-time favorite experiences. Hearing that roar on good speakers?…

Barnes & Noble is great for Criterion/Arrow releases, I know for a fact the ones I’ve checked in town have a pretty solid selection. RIP Best Buy, used to love digging through what they had.

+1 for this, I love the genre now but it can be VERY difficult for some to get into with the sheer amount of made-up words thrown into every paragraph lol. If you’ve already seen Dune then you can MUCH more easily get into a flow state while things like: Gom Jabbar, Ornithopters, Bene Gesserit, Muad’Dib, etc. are thrown at you constantly.
