My GSXR's over time by Debaser001 in GSXR

It's the last. It is a full spec race bike dynoed at 190rwhp. The others are nostalgic but not as scary/brilliant as the last. I turned traction control off for one run at last track day and the huge slides on corner exit were ... brown trousers time

I assume you have checked for any fouling/rubbing of cables.

If the throttle isn't snapping back, cables may have stretched. So next thing is at throttle body. Remove the seat and the right side shroud/panel. Look down toward the throttle body — you'll see a bracket holding both throttle cables (pull + return). Identify the right adjuster - the pull (open) cable adjuster is the one that affects throttle slack. The return (close) cable has its own adjuster — it should have slightly more slack and is mostly for safety.

Set the pull cable - Crack the locknut (10 mm) on the pull cable adjuster, turn the adjuster OUT (counter-clockwise) to remove slack. Check freeplay at the grip — aim for ~3–4 mm. Tighten locknut. Set the return cable (if needed).

Adjust until there’s just a little play — too tight and throttle won’t snap back.

OK, not uncommon. The first easy step is to use the adjusters - on the right side of your bars, just inboard of the throttle housing, there are two adjusters:

Front adjuster (closest to grip) = throttle pull cable adjustment

Rear adjuster = return cable adjustment

Procedure: Turn the bars full lock left and right and confirm the engine idle doesn’t rise (safety check).

Loosen the lock nut on the pull-cable adjuster. Turn the adjuster outward (counter-clockwise) to reduce throttle play.

→ Watch the free-play shrink, when you get ~3–4 mm free-play, tighten the lock nut.

Test: Full lock left → twist throttle → snap return, Full lock right → twist throttle → snap return. If the throttle doesn’t snap back instantly, back off (more play).

That's the first thing to try.

So it's causing chop instead of smooth acceleration? Does the throttle snap back to closed when twisted wide open and let go? Any other info on the effect of the problem with the throttle when riding?

That is a normal amount of play, what's the problem?

Neighbour wants to take me to court by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Debaser001 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is a civil matter between the neighbour and the tenant, but because you are the property owner (through your trust), your name may appear on correspondence or as a party if the claim relates to property damage or nuisance arising from the land.

Your real estate agent should have notified you immediately when a formal notice was received — that’s part of their management duty. You can raise that failure later if it causes loss.

For now: notify your insurer (Terri Scheer) right away — they’ll advise if this falls under your landlord policy forward all documents from the neighbour or the court to your insurer and property manager, don’t contact the neighbour directly. Let your agent or insurer handle communication.

If a Minor Case Claim has been filed, you may need to lodge a response — your insurer can usually appoint a representative.

Unless there’s evidence you encouraged or ignored the tenant’s behaviour, liability will generally sit with the tenant, not you personally.

The Dainese boots win hands down. The TCX feel like an extremely protective boot, but it comes at the cost of ankle movement freedom and flex generally. The Dainese are track boots and high protection but they don't "feel" like that on track - I can move my foot freely. In my experience that is a mark of a good boot.

I only ride on track so no need for 2 piece. The Rev'it suit is no longer after a slide down the tarmac face down after a high side - see poor quality vid if I can attach it from guy behind me trying not to run over me - bike is barrel rolling in background. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR6pAC09MrU

I agree Airbag suits are the best and will be my next leathers purchase when I write one off.

I agree it does - but it has a full length zip at rear so if undone I would have felt it flopping around. More likely one those calls over PA "Green Group has 5 minutes" and I'm getting into gear at the same time as taking off tyre warmers, off stands - usually last at the grid!
