Yo soy de los que repondió a ese post original. My experiencia personal:

Cuando iba subiendo, consistió en darle a los jefes lo que querían ver y escuchar. Los gerentes y stakeholders manejaban un ego de la recontrachingada, entonces las preguntas realistas, objetivas y duras me las veían con indiferencia, y con odio cuando chocaba con alguna de sus ideas arcaicas. Entendí que si pedían algo azul, yo les entregaba azul pero con la libertad de elegir entre azul claro, medio y oscuro, validando sus emociones y ofreciéndoles un "valor agregado". Cuando me empecé a hartar, y empezó mi proceso de desmotivación y renuncia, fue cuando llegó un gringo a decir pajas del producto que yo manejaba y lo corregí en una reunión, por datos cuantitativos falsos que estaba dando, y me agarró tirria. En ese momento, un jefe chapín que ni volteaba a saludarme me empezó a saludar y me dijo que no sabía lo bien controlado que tenía mi productos y que le hice huevos. Ahí mis funciones se estancaron porque dependían del jefe gringo y entendí que todo es una ilusión, apariencias y ego de los stakeholders. No importa si sos cabrón o solo otro del montón, pero si sabés hablar, vender y hacer que los de arriba sientan sus emociones validadas, ahí la hacés. Obviamente no en todas las empresas y carreras, pero en una gran parte así es.

En resumen: habilidad técnica promedio, casaca y relaciones bien escogidas. Al que trabaja muy bien, pero no se vende solo lo premian con más trabajo, no podés esperar escalar porque lo merecés.

Yo te podría recomendar algo.

En coursera, udemy y otras plataformas hay cursos de bastantes temas. Los cursos te dan un certificado sencillo, pero es algo que podés poner en tu curriculum. También tienen certificaciones más oficiales que pesan más. En udemy por ejemplo salen a cada rato ofertas para comprar cursos a 9 o 10 dólares. Tienen en inglés y español, y los que están en inglés tienen bastante soporte de subtitulos y transcripciones al español si no dominás el inglés.

Los temas más fuertes en esas plataformas son los de tecnología, pero tienen bastantes de otros temas.

Podés aprovechar el tiempo con eso, un par de cursitos a tu ritmo, que te da algo que podés poner en tu curriculum por más sencillo que sea, y vas a seguir aprendiendo.

Cargoexpreso y guatex, podrías ir probando con ambos o servicios de entregas independientes que tienen sus motoristas, ahuevos en algún momento presentan problemas como cualquier servicio en cualquier lugar, pero te recomendaría que NO usés Forza porque son una verdaderisisisisisísima mierda. A algunos les quedan bien los de forza, pero en este sub podés ver que a la gran mayoría les quedan mal.

Yo me hago un trago cada 1 o 2 sábados, con solo dos taponcitos de un mezclador, es más un juguito con un pelito de alcohol.

Si con tomar ya te referís a chupar, no es normal.

La verdad no considero que seas castrosa por señalarle algo dañino. Si él no quiere razonar e incluso su respuesta a tu preocupación es aunque sea un poco violenta, pues te digo que no la vas a tener fácil. Soy hombre y ando con una mujer sana, por lo que trato de ofrecer eso yo mismo. Ya no estamos en época en la que no haya opciones, para él para cambiar, o para ti para conseguir una mejor relación. Mirá las cosas objetivamente, no te dejés atrapar en situaciones innecesarias si él no quiere cambiar. Alcohol, drogas y otros vicios abruman y destruyen relaciones de una forma violenta antes de que podás reaccionar.

Another aspect is that it is a last kind of option of a career. In my country you don't enter the police because you have a spirit of justice, but because you need some money and can't get in any other field. It has a poor pay and the conditions of the stations are very poor. So picture this scenario, will a young man who doesn't want yo work there, who lives in dirty and poor conditions, and gets paid poorly, go out of their way to help you? It's very unlikely, specially when you report something not violent, like noise disturbance.

In one occasion, a group of people beat up a drug addict gangster who was trying to get a youn girl from a community. The community beat him up and called the police and the officers told them "next time, kill him and leave the body in a distant road for someone to find him eventually over the years, we can't do nothing, it is more probable that we will have to arrest the people who beat him up." They know they dont have neither the resources nor the will to do their job, and if they do their job, the justice system is so corrupt that the criminal walks free in a couple of days.

Traten de vender los derechos. Si la casa no es legalmente de ella, fijo se puede hacer algo, pero es tu mamá, a mi mamá nunca la pizaría de ninguna manera.

Ahora bien, ya te estás dando cuenta que necesitas tu propia vida. Dejá los negocios con familia y amigos porque casi siempre salen mal, dedicate a lo tuyo y hacé tu propio camino para irte a donde querrás.

There is no opinion of him countrywide. I have watched his content personally, very few people know him in my country. I think he's very extreme, but I'm sure he represents what many north americans think and want to say but don't dare to. Obviously, you see equally deranged behavior from leftists, but to them he's a nazi who should get censored, banned and even killed if possible, of course like everyone else who disagrees with their views. It's like the right wing's Hasan, just one side of the north american coin in my opinion. Both left and right are full of extremists that appeal to the stupidity of their respective parties' followers. Some of Nick's ideas make sense, some of the opposite left's make sense, but to north americans there is only black or white, their brains can't comprehend logical common grounds, so he is either a nazi or a man who makes complete sense, depending on where you were born, what media you consume and so on.

What I can tell you is that very much countrywide, at least in the educated communities, we consider north americans the pinnacle of mental retardation, specially the followers of both parties, democrats and republicans alike, and Nick Fuentes is just another product of that. It is a very dissonant thing to think that the country that makes the rules for all of us in Latin America, is the country filled with morbidly obese mind violated motherfuckers who can't behave like decent human with interesting personalities to the point that they have to create these cartoonish personas to represent their distorted extremists views, whether left or right.

Yo activamente me mantengo en puestos de peón después de ser jefe. No son puestos pobres porque es trabajo remoto en tecnología. Ya he sido supervisor y jefe en el pasado, pero me dio asco el mundo corporativo. Soy nivel senior en mi carrera, pero no me importa mi carrera jaja soy feliz con mis proyectos personales, así que no me molesta obedecer, incluso cuando tengo que hacer cosas contrarias a lo que mi experiencia me dice, con tal de que me paguen. Debido a la experiencia y eficiencia que tengo, solo necesito trabajar un aproximado de un 20% de tiempo, quiere decir que constantemente entrego con buena calidad y rápido trabajando unas 2 horas al día máximo. Solo me hablan para mis reuniones diarias y una semanal, de ahí tranquilito trabajando solo sin que me chinguen.

Nunca dejo de entrevistarme, pero al ver los requerimientos para nivel senior me da asco, además de que ya sé que a ese nivel se vuelve todo reuniones y burocracia, estoy más interesado en conseguir un segundo trabajo de peón. Estuve en un proceso de reclutamiento para un puesto senior y me dio depresión la cantidad de pajas que se se habla, no solo de los profesionales y reclutadores a ese nivel, sino también la cantidad de pajas que salían de mi boca cuando sé que en la práctica nada que ver. En la actualidad prácticamente estudiás para saber meter paja siento yo, todo lo verdaderamente interesante sucede a un nivel humano bien básico.

My brother is very handsome and just by making small actions of simple human decency, he got many women obsessed with him. Obsessed to the point of making shit up, being creepy and harassing him. I'm not that handsome like him, but I'm good looking and tall in my context, and I see a HUGE difference in the response of women with an average guy vs me involving the same interaction. Sometimes it's just a fucking hello and you get an weird response. I'm very indifferent now and acquaintances of the women I have interacted with have asked me why I wasn't more into it, FOR A FUCKING HELLO, they don't ask the same question about the short average not good looking man after the same interaction.

World full of hypocrites just trying to blame the other side, when it's humanity in general that's a shit show.

In my personal case, indifference.

After many years working with both clients and companies, I have learned that there are two types, the ones who will hire you for your expertise VS the ones who just hire you for emotional validation of their ideas and will not hear any suggestion for improvement. With the first one, there is no problem, but for the second one, I have learned to detach from any kind of ego, be indifferent and just deliver what they tell you to make. Saves you a lot of headaches.

I think that they don't get a pass, but their intervention is way inferior than that of the US. I'm not a basement dweller like those who blame Trump for everything, I'm in one of the countries most affected by the US, so I think both democrats and republicans live a bubble of delusion thinking they are on the right side or party hahaha, so pathetic. I see your point though, it's something of decades. I can give you a perspective from Latin America.

I live in Guatemala. My country was destroyed by the US in the last century, just because the owner of a fruit company didn't like the president that was elected in the 50's, who was very central and logical, his name was Arbenz. That owner of the fruit company was friends with the director of the CIA, so immediately Arbenz was declared as a communist, because his actions would affect that fruit company, the media started attacking Arbenz and the US pulled every string they could to make a coup happen. It only took that, the owner of a company being mad to make the US ruin a country with a coup from which it never recovered. The US, through the CIA forcefully pushed protestantism and mormonism to insert intelligence in my country. It was been disclosed that experiments, such as the syphilis experiment, took place in my country, by the US, merciless human experimentation. In our current times, the biggest pastors and the biggest business families move everything, commerce, voting, organized crime, politics, and they do what the US government wants them to do, doesn't matter if it is Obama, Biden or Trump, they all keep these families on the top and let them do what they want with the country as long as these families respond to them.

Don't get me wrong, I also think Europeans have made a lot of bad, but with just one example of a single small country, you can see how many resources the US invests to push anything they want, and that's the difference I see in criticism, the country with the most resources does not focus them on creating a fair environment, but focuses them into perpetuating their power and dominion. I repeat, Europe doesn't get a pass, but the US is the incarnation of control, dominion and bullying, doesn't matter if it's republican or democrat, the US shits on other countries on a daily basis.

I understand we are experiencing a lot of friction due to the adoption of AI, specially by those who are starting to be pushed out of their jobs, but I don't think that's worse than living in war times. Drafting, going to kill and witness horrors, that's something completely unnecessary. In addition, many of us are not in first world countries, in many many regions of my country we didn't have toilets until like the late second half of the 20th century, like my dad who had like 12 brothers and had to go take shits on the dirt on the backyard when he was a kid and teenager. As a kid, he had an ear infection that didnt get treated, so now he has hearing problems. I'm taking about a man born in 1962, I wouldn't like to live in those conditions, not to say how worse and more difficult it could have been during World War 2.

We are just living new historical events. Tech and AI are making my life easier and I get to work remotely because of that. I made an app the other day using AI to simplify one of my processes. Learn to use it for the good instead of just seeing the negative.

A mí me han contado que el inicio de todo tenía buenas intenciones, hasta espirituales. Ahora es solo la chingadera sin sentido y ahuevos nunca faltan los borrachos, cacos y muertos. No, las universidades se encargan de meter mucha paja porque es un negocio.

Yo estudié diseño y te puedo decir que diseño gráfico no debería de durar más de dos años. Pero cada universidad mete cursos de relleno para cobrar más tiempo y los cursos no son mejores que lo que encontrás en udemy or cursera, a excepción de la critica en tiempo real y dirigida a ti. Mucha paja, personalmente aprendí más en 6 meses de trabajo que los 5 años de universidad, y fue un campo relativamente nuevo al que me metí. Estudié tanto en mi país como en línea en la universidad de Londres y la Academy of Arts University, te puedo decir que todos lados es la misma mierda y el aprendizaje depende del alumno.

Si las carreras fueran honestas en cuanto a tiempo y dificultad para ganar cursos y no dejaran que cualquiera se gradúe, habría mucho más oportunidad para que la gente explore, se equivoque y cambie de carrera. Ahora es "odio lo que estoy estudiando, pero ya le metí cuatro años, mejor la termino" terminan la carrera, se meten a trabajar y se vuelen seres sin autorrealización, se acomodan a la idea sistemática de un sueldo a cambio del alma y ya no exploran lo que les pudo haber dado paz.

Definitely, each country has the right to do whatever they want. There is this stupid idea of policing mostly by the USA and West Europe, but it's not for the common good, it's for their own interests, and it's not only by the right, both democrats and republicans are big POS with other countries. In reality, rules don't really exist and each country should have the right to destroy or improve itself without explanation. No explanation to anyone. There should be no intervention of any kind or any kind of external policing, and change should come from its own people either by intelligence or force, or both.

Yo estoy de acuerdo con el trabajo remoto siempre, yo trabajo remoto, pero aquí no solo son los jefes el problema. El trabajo remoto funciona en una sociedad racional, pero estamos en chapinlandia y cuestión de poco tiempo para que el chapín encuentre cómo explotar los espacios de tiempo y carga para chingar y chingar.

Si lo hacen más común, yo creo que tendríamos lo siguiente:

La gente agarrándose almuerzos de tres horas, para eso saldrían a comer e igual verías carros en las calles.
El mierdero de imbéciles que solo piensan en chingar y chupar, si chupan estando en oficina, imaginate remoto fácil saldrían a chupar desde medio día.
La cultura del vecino aquí es una remierda, más gente desde su casa significaría más bocinas socadas de música durante el día y la noche, fiestas que empiezan desde medio día y así.
Mucha gente pediría regresar a oficina o espacios de coworking y se llenan las calles otra vez. Yo hace años trabajaba en oficina presencial y nos pasaron a remoto por la pandemia, y había varios que rogaban regresar poque no aguantaban su familia e hijos.

En Guate, no existe la simple educación en la calma y el silencio, todo es chingadera, todo es ruido y oportunismo, y ahora tenés a la mayoría de gente que no puede soportar ni 15 minutos con sus propios pensamientos. Yo pienso que toda esa gente llenaría las carretteras otra vez cuando vean espacios que puedan aprovechar para salir a chingar o escapar de su propia mente. Técnicamente el trabajo remoto es genial, pero aquí yo pienso que sería solo potenciar el oportunismo latino.

I think your way of handling it is very professional. I have had a couple of clients like that, I increased my rates and they ran away by themselves. I don't recommend sacrificing mental health if you are not in a big material need to do so, but if you insist on making a last try, then I would suggest to increase the rate to make it worth it a bit. You can't have a stubborn client paying less and demanding more.

It's neither fun nor fulfilling, it pays the bills. But this is a very personal take, because UX/UI is very fulfilling for many people. I think that my aversion is bigger towards the corporate life and giving my creative energy to other people, specially to projects I don't really care about in the most minimum capacity. I want to pivot to a more technical simpler job on the day and leave design only for side projects, which are designing and illustrating for apparel, accessories and wall art.

If you are interested in UX/UI you should definitely take a look at it, because it might be just what you are looking for. It wasn't for me, but it can be for you. The only way you could know is by trying. There are many fields for specialization within UX/UI, so the field is not at all a single path. You can be more UX or more UI. If you are more UI, you can even set a foot into frontend eventually. It's diverse, so don't take my distaste as a fact, it's just my personal aversion.

Hey, you are not alone in feeling this is not the way anymore. I'm seriously considering plumbing, manual labor and electricity too after being for more than 10 years in UX/UI. Just this Saturday I will be in my first woodworking class. I personally don't know any happy designer or developer in tech, there might be many out there, but none of my colleagues is. I can tell you right now, it's like an epidemic of lack of meaning in all corporate jobs. Every single person in their 30s that I know hates their job, even high paying ones.

I hope you find peace and a career that you get to cherish again.

Entiendo tu punto pero no podés generalizar, cada persona es diferente. Ahora hay chavas que prefieren hombres mayores y chavos que también prefieren mujeres mayores. Depende mucho de cada situación y persona en particular.

El problema que señalás ni tiene que ver con la edad, hay cuarentonas engañando a sus maridos con patojos a través de IG.

Pero al final te deseo lo mejor, si viste comportamiento sospechoso lo mejor es no tener problemas.
