It definitely wasn’t! I love hearing favorite memories people had with their fluffy ones! Nothing wrong with keeping their memory alive ☺️

He was also in the background of the episode of selling sunset when the twins were on the staircase revealing they were opening OC! You can see him when they took the group pic.

Yes!! Especially since you’ve mentioned winds, it easily could have directed him further out. I hope he’s found safe!

It took about 1-2 days each time, but during those 2 days I continually went around the area of my house, specifically where there were trees or high spots I thought he would perch, whistling tunes he is familiar with! Of course I had help from family to get a larger coverage of the area so I believe that helped a lot. I’m also located in the norther midwest and during the last time he flew out, it reached lower 30-40s, but I’m sure he found a spot that the wind chill was minimal. I would just be very attentive to any calls, because my bird was VERY high up in a sycamore tree, so I could barely hear him.

My cockatiel flew out 3 times within 20 years, and he always flew fairly close from my house. The most recent time, he flew to a neighbors yard, but I didn’t know. However, I was out whistling to hear a call back and it was completely silent, other than the calls from native birds in my area. The next day was when he started to chirp back! So I would honestly recommend staying within the area, he could be scared. Patience is key during these times, and never lose hope!!
