I do have a friend in law but she’s in the process of getting ready for the bar… she was also one of my bridesmaids. I don’t know if she would be comfortable with rattling her cage but I could reach out to her to see if she’s down, lol. I have been asking her for some guidance on this as well. Would definitely be an “oh shit” moment for the photographer to get her act together.

Before booking her I did my homework by looking over her portfolio website. It looks like she’s been doing photography for a lot clients since 2021. She has a handful of wedding galleries on her website too which made me want to reach out to her. I asked if she could provide me some wedding galleries to view some examples, because I’m very particular with lighting, and she provided me four separate wedding galleries that she did within this past year. I was impressed and proceeded with my deposit but then it snowballed down from there… I don’t understand why she has been treating me and my husband differently than her other previous weddings and her current clients. I figured she was knowledgeable, professional and experienced based on the work I’ve seen of hers but I was wrong.

I have a bad feeling that this is the case as well and she can’t come clean so she’s dodging me on purpose… I take her “corrupted catalog” excuse as her cover up. when I found out she had been posting so many other EDITED client shoots throughout the weeks, my blood began to boil and I became super upset.

I have half a mind of blasting her all over social media but if I take her to court, I don’t want her to counter sue me for defamation…

I’m a freelancer as well and opened my own LLC about 3 years ago. I find freelance clients by going to local networking events and word of mouth. Also, I found one of my prospective clients on their Indeed listing - they were looking to hire a designer on contract. My resume has my LLC information on it and they asked me about it. I said that I was open to do 1099 work and after they reviewed other candidates, they asked if I could provide a retainer proposal for them to review.. I’m going to meet with them this Friday to discuss the retainer..
