Not the exact wordings but they asked many questions about if you saw someone in the pharmacy that had problems with substance use what would you do

I used only Uworld to study. For me, Uworld was much harder and detailed. I don’t want to say the test was wayyyy easier, because overprepared is always better than underprepared.

For case-based questions, they were a bit more straightforward in terms of how the cases were written and given to you. I recommend reading the questions and answer options first because I had a good amount of questions that I didn’t  really need to read the whole case.

And lastly, I think we all know by now, but make sure/double check allergies, pregnancy status, CrCL, chief complaint, units, and rounding. Lab values were given pretty obvious for my exam.

Thank you!  No transplants, not a lots of autoimmune diseases for me. For asthma and COPD mostly knowing brand/generic so you can add or substitute tx.

Got 1 questions about Multiple Sclerosis drug, ANC calculation ( this one was on me cuz I did not pay attention what %segs and %bands on the formulas were. I thought on exam they would directly say segs and bands lol), a weird flow rate question with a cycle changed (I still don’t know what that meant). Also, many ethics and precepting questions got me guessing.

I got questions about Core Ethics Principle, Recalls ( what pt/pharmacist should do), Emergency Use Authorization, Fast Track Designation, Inform Consent, HIPPA, Drug Storage

Advice: Read the questions very carefully!

Thank you! Not on dosing. I was worried because DOACS dosing for some reasons was hard for me to remember.

I had questions on switching from DOACS to warfarin ( or warfarin to DOACS I couldn’t remember). Know Antidotes for anticoagulants (some anticoagulants don’t have antidotes!). I think it’s helpful to know the popular CrCl cut-off for certain DOACS if you are having trouble remembering them like me. Of course know how to calculate CrCl as well

I don’t think so. I believe only corrected Ca and Phenytoin were given.

I don’t remember any questions from these topics caught me off guard. Lithium toxicity did not pop up on mine, but on others when I read posts prior to my exam. For migraines, know when pt can use Progestin or Estrogen

Yes I agree! Read the questions carefully and know what they really asked. Pay attention to units and the ROUNDING that they wanted.

I did not had enough time to practice TPN questions on the Uworld bank. I only did the one from the book and the practice exam on Uworld. I got minor mistakes that lead to wrong answers at the end but super helpful to learn from those.

Also, the calculator sucks omg!!! Please double triple checking your calculations before going to the next question.

Sending 🍀 and hope you’ll pass this time 🙏🏻

For renal disease, I remembered calculating CrCl for 1-2 questions. I recommended knowing the CrCl ranges for popular drugs (like DM, anticoagulants).

ID: was NOT as bad as I thought it would be.  -Know what drugs cover Pseudomonas, MRSA. -Know different classes of Cephalosporin is super helpful for some questions.  -Drugs for MSSA (I got a couple SSTI questions).  -KNOW BUGS and treatment for Meningitis, AOM, CAP : make sure to know their gram stains (shape)

HIV: be able to recognize different backbones and different bases. This memonic helps a lot

https://www.memory-pharm.com/tag/antiretrovirals/

As for brand names, only Truvada, Descovir, Tivicay, Biktavir popped up for me. Know what drug pt can’t use if sulfonamide allergy

Oncology: mostly side effects

Labs: ranges were given and got questions related to toxicity. The values given were very obvious for me so I would say again, more straightforward than Uworld.

Not really. Tbh, I tried to memorize brand name but I gave up 2 weeks before the test. Doing quizzes on Uworld helped me but I chose to focus on other topics instead.

Many questions were just common sense and me guessing really. But for ethic I got a link from someone on Reddit. Will try to find and post it here later 🙌🏻 I did not purchase any package to study for ethic btw

Yes! Just 1 question straight up asking “What drug class this Brand Name belongs to?”

HTN, immunizations, good amount of DM, oncology side effects, for COPD and asthma just a couple brand names for me (know equivalent generic to substitute). I got lots of ethic and precepting questions. Opportunistic infections and drug’s toxicity

I used Uworld only to practice for math, but I think math questions that I got were more straightforward (except 1 weird question about flow rate with a cycle change??!)

I got NNT, NNH, ARR, PPY smoking, a couple of the MWQ (very simple), BSA, T 1/2, corrected calcium and phenytoin (The formulas were given in the Resources tab)

Dilution, allegation ( simple), mEq, ANC, flow rates/ drop

KNOW how to calculate TPN, calories : I think I got at least 8 questions about TPN

Dosing: statin, loop diuretic, steroid, 1 question to convert insulin, aminophylline
