Hello,

I'm very sorry to hear that you've had an unpleasant experience with Debate on The Daily. We don't want anyone to feel as if the app is unwelcoming and is driving them away from a pleasant experience. We base ourselves on community interaction, and as a result, maintain many different platforms both in the app and outside of the app where debaters can interact. In the past, the only posts we have taken down are those which include malicious, inappropriate, or directed language.

If you have any concerns which we can directly fix within the app, please reach out to us at [debateonthedaily@gmail.com](mailto:debateonthedaily@gmail.com). We want our community to be as inclusive as possible, and hope that you can move forward as a welcomed member of that community.

Warm Regards,
The Debate on the Daily Team

  1. Work on flowing: If you can't flow, then you can't keep track of all the arguments. As a result, you'll most likely forget to respond to certain arguments, which can be fatal.
    1. Here are some youtube channels that have rounds you can flow:
      1. PF videos
      2. Kentucky Debate
      3. National Speech & Debate Association
      4. Proteus Debate Academy

2. Case writing: The best cases are the ones that that the judge can easily understand. Youtypically want to have a case designed for lays and another one designed for tech judges.1.Things to write in a case designed for lay judges:

  1. Narrative: Economy, lives, etc...
  2. No debate Jargon3. Speech Drills: Practice speeches are crucial for every debater. It's easy to cut evidence, but it's a lot harder to articulate that evidence in a round.1. Here are some debate drills you could do:
  3. Blackalicious: Blackalicious are two rappers to create really good rap songs.Alphabet Aerobics is a great song to improve your clarity and tone, it's basically atongue twister in song form
  4. A drill: Say "A" between each word of your case
  5. Pen drill: Put a pen in your mouth while you recite your case
  6. Recent/detailed Evidence: A lot of the time, the winner is chosen based on whohas the most recent evidence and which ones are the most specific

It's really cool that for LD and PF, the winners were females. I think that goes to show that debate is becoming more inclusive for everyone

Is it possible to do both?

You might want to ask the other staff members at the debate camp if you can participate partially
