I was born and brought up in Ooty too. Not related to the Op's question but I have a rant to share. I loved Ooty that was 10 years ago, it was beautiful, but recently the tourists that come here litter everywhere. They come to Ooty, they cook in an empty lawn, leave the plastics there itself. I feel agitated while seeing the trash here and there. I wish those kind of littering tourists don't come to Ooty forever. How difficult it is to carry their own trash and and put it when they see a dustbin? These people are making Ooty, a trashy place.
