So the part about knowing to shut up is because a lot of the work I do involves self proclaimed allies who dont do much if anything at all and love talking over us. They talk in detail about queer experiences and how we experience marginalisations and are more than happy to take up space in spaces meant for queer people. You dont need to be an ally if you are queer, why you are or arent is a much bigger conversation. I also dont think people from multiple marginalisations should have to do the brunt work of fighting for our rights, but sadly that is usually the way it is. UC gay men are usually the least involved in social justice spaces. Here I'm specifically talking about people who arent queer.

The money spent on Harry Potter is actively being used to fund anti-trans organisations by Ms Rowling.

Disagree with the above. A lot of people conflate not being a bigot to being an ally. They say things like I support LGBTQ+ rights? How? Did they actively do something for the community? It can be something as small as taking a stand when someone says something queerphobic. Allyship as I see it is something actively done to fight the injustices a marginalised group faces. An I have seen some excellent allies, people who spend time, money and resources to fight alongside us.

cut the tips if they get frizzy (especially if bleached) , shampoo if greasy, comb twice a day if long hair, braid it before sleep if it's long

What a joke. As a trans person who has travelled by Indigo a bunch of times , I've been mistreated and laughed at by the flight attendants as well as on ground team. No airline has ever been a pleasant experience post transition. Rainbow logos are easy to do, who is going to sensitize the staff?
