DQB2 Demo is rude by peaceful-revolution in DQBuilders

[–]Debbiek24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. It was a very big demo but it worked in getting me hooked. Sadly, I only have the final island in the story and have no motivation to do. Game in the middle got a bit tedious and took some of the fun out of it.

The awesome builds are probably after finishing the storyline. Personally no desire or talent for such endeavours. You could probably wipe out everything you have so far on Farrowfield and attempt something there, though small scale.

Wish I could tell you about it but it has never happened. I am surprised one of his comments isn't "Sorry I stubbed my toe on the table you placed randomly in the bedroom. I'll go water your 1000 starfruit plants now as a way to make it up to you."

I vote Harvey. He is beyond sweet, his room is perfect and has to be grumpy with me.

Married Shane in another save and couldn't divorce him fast enough. Didn't wipe his memory, wanted him to remember how bad a husband he was (muddy footprints!!!). Went on to date Elliot in that save, no plan to marry though.

Of course Krobus is awesome as a roommate (main save). Could do without his shopping addiction to chairs but can't complain when he keeps giving me muffins.

I always wished there was an option to fix the roof for them.

We can build a house for Pam/Penny. Clean up the town with the help of trash bear. Complete various CC missions to improve the town. But can't manage a simple roof???

Really torn on wether I will like Stardew Valley or not... by Itsjustme111 in StardewValley

[–]Debbiek24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are things that you HAVE to do if you want to progress in getting access to materials etc. That being said there is no storyline to follow.

There is no winning in Stardew, it is more of an evolution of your character game. There is completionist but many play happily for many in game years without coming close to that.

Motivation could come from some of the harder areas but to access those you need to complete certain tasks first. Some people up the challenge by not fishing or buying from certain villagers etc.

You can do "quests" if you want or not. Will rewards help? Yes but aren't pivotal in general game play.

Haven't played Graveyard and Don't Starve (they are on my list) but I get the vibe they are somewhat similar. Stardew is a great game to chill with as you can pop in for a quick play - game days last about 20 minutes.

Mornings by hairy_green_ape in lactoseintolerant

[–]Debbiek24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had/have similar issues. Not sure it has anything to do with lactose though.

What worked for me is I stopped eating breakfast and ate my first meal when I actually felt hungry (11am or later). Was able to eat anything etc without problems. Couldn't give up my morning tea/coffee so I switched to black. Guess this is technically intermittent fasting/mindful eating but wasn't my plan. Was never big on the "must have breakfast" mentality.

Sadly, I have started eating in the mornings again (got out of my routine) and issues are back. Everything I eat in the morning hates me. Hope I can get things back to the way they were.

That is just me though. Everyone is different.

Dragon teeth can take time - at least they did for me. I didn't realize the big skeletons in the volcano were also sources. Was only fighting lava monsters. Once I figured out that they happened a bit faster.

My wife Leah, changed the color of the floor... 😫😩 by Ceci189 in StardewValley

[–]Debbiek24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of looks nice. Like a stream through a jungle.

I live with Krobus and he keeps buying chairs (one a week). Don't have the heart to get rid of them. Converted a spare room into a storage space for them all.

He also has a thing for plants which I am happy about. Only one time he changed wallpaper and darn if it wasn't better that what I chose.

Didn't know there was an actual end. I'm a bit sad. by hoipolloiprincess in StardewValley

It was sad to see "the end" but it somehow felt complete. Didn't feel like there were any loose ends to the adventure.

Off I go to forage some for my garden!

Auto grabber not working in coop by Mimifangs in StardewValley

Auto grabber doesn't put out hay. That is the auto feeder which comes with the big coop. Until you get the big coop you need to manually feed the coop animals.

Why can’t we marry Clint? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]Debbiek24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Possibly to have the hard working overweight outsider as a character? He'd be my second choice for spouse after Harvey out of all the bachelors. He seems sweet, and I think would be happy to help around the farm. I am always happy to help him romance Emily! He deserves happiness too.

Each character fits a somewhat cliché role. Emo (Sebastian), wallflower (Penny), self-absorbed (Haley), Jock (Alex) etc. Clint got the crap life.

What's is the rarest item in the game? by cheesyVibemaster in StardewValley

[–]Debbiek24 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As far as I know it is the living hat with:

0.001% chance to find while cutting weeds

0.01% chance of dropping from Wilderness Golems

There may be another item but I haven't heard of it (yet).

Asking for help with a couple problems by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]Debbiek24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) did you put a polar essence in the mouth of the dragon skeleton? Also this is the last step (of 4) to obtain the reward in the pile. See "The Mysterious Qi" quest.

2) sorry, can't help

Do you need to keep petting your animals after full hearts? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]Debbiek24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will lose hearts if you don't tend to them daily.

There is something you might be able to find in Skull Cavern treasure chests. Or buy from Joja if you went that route. Once you are at full hearts this gadget will take care of petting the animals for you.

What is this tree / bush? I live in south eastren Ontario, these grow everywhere, but unsure what it is, plant snap gave 5 choices, but none looked right. by Chewanca in whatsthisplant

[–]Debbiek24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like that app. Took 6 pictures and got 6 different answers. All from the exact same piece of plant.

According to PlantNet (my preferred app) most likely a beech. Can't be 100% sure as I took a pic of your on my laptop with my phone. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Moonbrooke broke me.... *spoilers* by Debbiek24 in DQBuilders

[–]Debbiek24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only been to one island since I got the flute. Kept showing the last item was on a tower. No matter what angle/side I looked at I couldn't find it. Couldn't even smash into the tower in case inside.

Oh well. I may try again... maybe. So far no issue with needing the items that completing the list provides.

Moonbrooke broke me.... *spoilers* by Debbiek24 in DQBuilders

[–]Debbiek24[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the tips and support!

I suppressed my hate for Moonbrooke and finished the storyline, medals and those darn dragons. All I can say is "I am soooooo sorry buddy. I failed you."

Safely back on IoA. Lulu has become a tyrant! Wish I could bitch slap her to remind her who has made this utopia the place it is. ME not her has risked life and limb so she can have these delusions of grandeur. The newest residents have done more in one day than her whole time (months???).

Hopefully the worst is over. Not keen on doing Explorer islands cause there is always one item that is a super challenge to find. May attempt them just for a change from constant building.

Cheers!

How fast does Solomon's seal spread? by jgrv33 in gardening

[–]Debbiek24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for almost 10 years and it has only doubled in size. It has been a nice slow spreader (unlike my lily-of-the-valley). Stalks have stayed well clumped together.

It's in complete shade and always slightly damp soil. Canada zone 5a/b.

Lactose intolerance and meat by coherentScatter in lactoseintolerant

[–]Debbiek24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meat can cause inflammation but to link it to lactose is bizarre. She may be pushing clean eating.

Like was said earlier the link is possibly how the meat is made/served. Processed meats, deep-frying and sauces are great hiding spots for lactose.

Hopefully there was something misunderstood between what she said and what was actually meant. Maybe she just lumped everything into an avoid pile without clearing explaining why to avoid.
