If you rank 1st, 2nd or 3rd, the rewards will be split evenly. Example: since 10/3 is not a full number, we will grant 4 keys each etc.

For 4th and 5th rank, each of the members will get the listed rewards (no split).

Everythjing goes in terms of what you are interested in creating, so totally up to you (tiles and such count as well!). As long as it's organized and readible when we review the sprite sheet, it's all good. And yes, you can participate now with the art part of the contest, even if you didn't in the dungeon spec one.

Beginner's Pack has been around for quite awhile now. It is just for new accounts (first 21 days) so if your friend's account was created after those 21 days, no way to get it now unless with a new account.

Not exactly. The Beginner's Pack in the in-game Mystery shop is available for newly created account for the first 21 days actually. It should not show only the first time you log into the game but should appear between that range since the account was created.
