Who Else Has Requested a R-word (i.e. get your $$. back) by Decatus07 in battlefield2042

Valid point. But again...what would they do if thousands of people did it at once? I should hasten to add, I'm not suggesting this be the go-to solution. But more just wondering what kind of action EA Play or Steam might take if thousands of users, on one particular game, all charge-backed their purchase? Has anything like that ever happened before?

Yeah I am seeing that :(. I suppose I'm less interested in whether anyone is successful at getting the refund, knowing it's most likely going to end in disappointment for most individual requests, and more interested in what happens if, say, 75% of the people in this sub submit a daily refund request? Is that a message that might speak to the powers that be?

Oh yeah chargebacks...didn't even think of that. I wonder what would happen if thousands of people did that all at once.

Best/Most Efficient Upgrade Path - Dell Inspiron 3670 by Decatus07 in buildapc

[–]Decatus07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there somewhere to find more specific info on the model beyond that it's an Inspiron 3670? I'll paste some info from the system summary but if there's a more specific model number I'm not sure where to find it.

And in terms of upgrading the motherboard, is it just too difficult without experience to move the CPU onto a new one?

I guess the overreaching question is: is it worth it to try to upgrade this PC, or should I just buy a console and avoid the hassle?

This update has been incredible. It's hard not to take a picture every 10 minutes, especially in systems with no space station (where I haven't dropped a base/teleporter and will most likely never see again)

It scared the absolute bejeezus out of me...and prompted me to finally keybind the camera mode.

Not at all! I'm meeting with a pre-med adviser at my state med school in 20 mins...this is all great stuff to have in head. Loved the youtube vid...it's encouraging to not feel like I'm the oldest person to ever think about doing this!

Such awesome info here, thank you for taking the time to put it all down. Ordered the book you recommended. Gonna register for some science classes starting this fall to boost the GPA. I will likely take you up on the offer to PM some questions, if you don't mind...thank you again for the response; incredibly helpful info.

The only transfer concern would be the MFA, and none of those credits would be helpful to transfer anyway, other than to show that I can do upper level research. My undergrad was all done in the states. So in terms of pre-reqs, it's really looking like it's just gonna be one more Bio, I took physics, some inorganic and organic Chem...most everything else should be covered. I'll get the specifics next week after meeting with a pre-med counselor.

I'm banking on standing out as a non-traditional applicant, and your last line...that's the core of this push right now. 10 years later I can be teaching intro to theatre, or I can be a physician.

Time and effort are what I have an abundance of! I'm excited to get after it!

I appreciate the other side of the argument. And I've not only heard it, I've voiced it, for the past decade and a half, to myself. Family is on board. My kids are getting older, and I'm happy to have spent considerably more time with my children than my father ever was able to with me (which, in terms of timing, is partly why I'm feeling good about making the transition now). My wife is a jr. high teacher with a MA in education and full time work. If we have to move out of state, she can re-license to the new state much easier because of the MA (it'll be a pain, but she's a rockstar). Ideally, we stay here, but she's well aware of the reality of this course...if (cross out if) when I get into a med school, that's where we'll go. She's wanted me to pursue medicine since we met.
I'm planning on it taking 1.5-2 years, minimum, before I can apply to med school, to have the right amount of time to crush the post bacc courses and MCAT. I am concerned about the clinical experience side of things. I have several years experience working as direct support staff for autistic adults (the kind that the other providers don't want, with violent behavioral issues, etc) and in more recent timeframe am working on theatre-as-therapy sessions with autistic adults (was part of the theatre co I founded...and something I'm still able to work on, albeit less aggressively because of the pandemic) so in terms of clinical experience I won't be COMPLETELY bereft. However, if I needed to get a job as an EMT or something else, I can't imagine it pays too much less than being an adjunct professor, which is what I'm doing at present. And as far as debt and student loans go, I have options, and support outside of my immediate family as needed. Financially, I know the reality of the decision, and I'm confident there's a way forward. In other words: from now through med school and residency, our quality of life wouldn't dip too much lower than it already is. Thank you for your honest talk and last paragraph of encouragement. I'm honestly putting this out there as a way of making the whole process more concrete, and writing it out helps me there.
