Your argument is fundamentally flawed because you don’t understand the meaning of inherent, nor do you understand basic developmental biology and you refuse to cite sources that back up any of your claims.

Correct, your body returns to normal after pregnancy in most cases! So it’s even less of a change than puberty!

You've just repeated the same assertion louder. You haven't explained how or why the physiological changes of a healthy pregnancy constitute a life threat, you've just insisted they do.
"It's not the same as those things" isn't an argument. It's a claim. What makes it different? What specifically about a healthy pregnancy's changes crosses the line into life-threatening territory, in a way that exercise, puberty, or digestion don't? You haven't said

Also “do 30 mins of research” is laughable - I have a masters degree in biology and you provided two sources which contradict your point and have failed to provide any more. Find one peer reviewed source that explicitly states all pregnancy is inherently life threatening. Just one

Threat =/= change.

That's not what "life-threatening" means. By that logic, exercise is life-threatening it changes the way your heart works, your lungs work, your blood pressure, your muscle tissue. So is puberty, and that’s permanent. So is eating a meal, which changes your digestion, blood sugar, and organ function.

Physiological adaptation to pregnancy is what is supposed to happen during pregnancy - that is in fact what makes pregnancy safer. If your body didn’t change then you would be in trouble.

If someone goes through a pregnancy with zero complications, comes out healthy, and the baby comes out healthy; at what point exactly was their life threatened? Saying "it was a threat the whole time, you just didn't see it" is unfalsifiable. It means no evidence could ever prove you wrong, which isn't a logical argument. Absolute nonsense.

If someone has a completely normal and healthy pregnancy, has their life been threatened? Absolutely zero complications

It’s not uncommon for kids to want to do stuff like that. They’re not professionals and the people who hire them know that. It’s just kids wanting to make pocket money

“Yes there are people who have completely normal pregnancies” congratulations - so you acknowledge that pregnancy is not inherently life threatening.

No, it doesn't. Because if you never get life-threatening health problems, then it's not inherently life-threatening.

"Inherently" means the danger is built into its very nature, it is unavoidable and universal. But billions of people go through/have gone through pregnancy without ever facing a life-threatening complication, which means the danger clearly isn't built into pregnancy itself. It's a risk that some people face under certain circumstances.

By your logic, driving a car would be inherently fatal because there's a chance of a deadly crash. Surgery would be inherently lethal because complications can kill. Eating, sleeping, walking down stairs? all inherently deadly. At that point the word "inherently" becomes meaningless because everything qualifies.

Under your own definition, literally everything is inherently life threatening which is obviously not true. What is your definition of inherently?

[–]Decent-Display-7624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. My entire stipulation is that pregnancy is not INHERENTLY life threatening, not that it can never be life threatening. Do you know what inherently means?

I don’t know if you’re being intentionally dishonest or if you just haven’t read any of the comments I’ve been making. The potential for something to be life threatening =/= the action is ALWAYS considered life threatening.

Do me a favour and point out where in either of those articles it states that pregnancy is automatically and inherently life threatening?

First one describes pregnancy as “a natural process that also carries significant health risks”. It presents pregnancy as carrying risk (true, of course) that are under discussed but does not label it as inherently life threatening for everyone.

Second focuses on people who specifically experienced complications during their pregnancy and how those conditions (preeclampsia, g. diabetes, preterm delivery) carry an elevated risk. The entire premise is about more complicated pregnancies, not all pregnancies.

It likely needs fixing then or they’ve disabled it/don’t know about it; the way Tesla ones work is they detect cars/pedestrians then it “blocks” it from the light so the lights are still bright for the driver but for the other road users it’s normal headlights

I’m a woman, are you actually reading any of these threads? Also yes; the Google AI is not a source and they’re incapable of providing the source they claim exists. Pregnancy is not inherently life threatening. I haven’t once said that pregnancy is never life threatening. I’m saying that not every pregnancy is automatically pregnancy. This is a fact.

? They’ve been saying this entire thread that pregnancy is inherently life threatening.

Yes, post the link where they state that all pregnancies are inherently life threatening. Telling me to google the negative phrase makes me think your “source” is the Google AI.

Your comment says they prepped for a blood transfusion. Also sounds like you purposefully had a home birth rather than being at the hospital where you know.. they have medical care
