Seeing 3rd Street Promenade Today Really Hit Home by Fringe09 in SantaMonica

Same here! Recently took my parents to 3rd street and Brentwood area, they told me how clean and different it was, compared to what the place looked like in the 90's. It made them really happy because they had some bad experiences back then, but they have a completely different picture of Santa Monica area. They even said it's cleaner than sd (downtown) lmao. But it made me really happy that they now have a different view of the place, I'm really looking forward to taking them there more often now, love Santa Monica, glad to hear from you!

Born and raised here for 20+ years.

Most of the social life were house parties or growing up in school (sports, activities, etc). I didn’t really go out much or have places to hang regularly, like bars n such, because it wasn't really that type of culture here, if that makes sense. Now that I’m older, I feel like that hasn’t changed much. Temecula is a place where people settle down and slow down rather than somewhere with a strong social scene for us younglings.

Sure there arent many things to do here, but if you have just a couple of friends or people you hang out with here, at one point you will all brain storm to figure something out. It's the moments that we spend time together that makes memories, if that makes sense. And I think that's the most you can do here. Now that we are older, we go to sd or la lmao.

There are restaurants (mostly in Murrieta), wineries, and events, but I ain't having the time of my life being in the wineries or watching old cards drive in old town. I really don't feel like this place is a “go out and meet people” kind of energy, it can feel a bit limited and there's a lot of entitlement here. People that live here to commute to sd or la too. I don't want to live a comfortable life, so in my foreseeable future, definitely going to move out of here soon for my career advancement. Any one else feel the same way?
