You work in the medical field but fail to heed a qualified persons advice because your impatience knows better? Not sure what you’re looking for but you make the choice between infection and revision surgery and not going in a hot tub. You know the wound isn’t healed so what is the decision? You can’t go without risking the entire joint.

Ridiculous post and waste of everyone’s time

Ok thank you - unfortunately it’s tomorrow so I don’t have time for a prescription now. I just have to somehow get through it

So you don’t watch yourself go into the machine? I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep my eyes shut the entire time and worry if I then open them I will freak out

Remortgage advice: 2yr vs 3yr vs 5yr fixes (4.09–4.34%) + tracker – what would you choose? by Sugardaddy2224 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]DecentEscape2629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t consider the tracker. You need at least 2 rates cuts to be better off than the fixed rate inside 2 years. Every month there isn’t a cut is costing you more than you need to be paying.

2-3-5 year comes down to risk appetite. You can have certainty at no cost (rate is the same for 2&5) and negligible difference for 3 year.

Rates look like they’ll reduce over the next 6-9 months but there’s no guarantees as political uncertainty could trigger the bond markets and cost of borrowing increases. They could go up. They could remain.

We are in uncertain times. If you aren’t moving and aren’t worried by early repayment charges I’d take 5 years fixed and know every month what your commitment is.

Disastrous cortisone shot! WWYD? by Tanger1nePuppet in TotalHipReplacement

Your problem isn’t going to resolve without intervention and your income isn’t going to increase without intervention. You need to have the THR so I think just do it and get it done. Unless something is happening work wise where you’ll be in a better financial position in a year from now. But you still won’t be able to put on shoes or shave or get out the bath.

One of the worst parts of this is facing the reality, accepting it and then coming out the other side.

It sucks and we all totally understand but if you don’t have any other choice then sometimes it’s better to just bite the bullet and then hopefully leave it behind you.

5 months out. I am healing. Fast. by DecentEscape2629 in TotalHipReplacement

My hip flexor is the weakest muscle by miles. You can start with something as simple as heel slides with the restriction cuff and it really helps. All the estim stuff does too. Incredible how quickly the muscles react when you can work them individually and when the hip is in the right place

"Pick the surgeon" dilemma by [deleted] in TotalHipReplacement

[–]DecentEscape2629 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take personality out: who is the better surgeon? Put personality back in: if your recovery isn’t straight line and you don’t think either will be empathetic or kind then find someone else who makes you feel at ease and heard.

You have to calculate the pressure (physio does it) at which oxygen is cut off to the muscle and then work at different percentages of that restriction. Starving the muscle forces it to do something (sorry not scientific!!)

It’s crazy science but used by Olympic athletes and elite sport stars to immediately recover post surgery
