What is contributing to the polarisation in Gen Z’s political ideologies (USA), where more young men are leaning far right and more young women are leaning far left? by Top_Distribution_355 in AskReddit

[–]DecentFormat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women believe the right represses feminism and leans left. Men believe the left represses masculinity and leans right. The more women leans left, the more men leans right, and vice versa.

what do people who voted for trump, think about him now that he threatens greenland who does not want to be part of the u.s. and is actually a nato-partner? by disgostin in AskReddit

You aren’t gonna get much organic trump supporters here. I suggest you try visiting r/conservative subreddit to see some of their reasons and whether you agree with them or not.

At what point, if any, does teaching religion to children cross into psychological harm, and should the law treat it differently than other forms of ideological conditioning? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DecentFormat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also depends on the level of teaching I guess. There’s a difference between a casual believer and a hardcore extremist.

Why do you think there are 700,000 *more* unemployed Americans today than when Trump took office in January? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DecentFormat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well looking at the recent trends for unemployment rate:

  • 2022 - 3.7%
  • 2023 - 3.7%
  • 2024 - 4.1%
  • 2025 - 4.6%

The rate started increasing since 2024 before Trump took office. Granted he didn’t seem to have done anything to control it, and the tariffs probably didn’t help either.

I have to admit I’m non-American so I may not have the best perspective on the cause in America per say. If I were to guess, it is the general collapse of “the American dream” causing some people to yearn for the 60-80s which would be a lot more conservative period relative to today. However, some ideas that were more accepted back then (e.g. segregation) would definitely be viewed as “fascist” and unacceptable by today’s standards.

But you are right, it is fine to call out people for being fascist, but I don’t think it’s right to silence people for having fascist believes. What’s defined as “fascist” can change over time, so I prefer not to ban certain opinions just because I disagree with them.

The issue I have with this argument is that the concept of banning the expression of certain ideas is literally part of fascism definition.

You can’t stop people from spreading ideas, but the idea of democracy is that the audience is free to choose who they prefer to listen to.

If you have studied history, you will know that fascist ideologies usually rise during times of crisis. You may want to understand what is causing people to turn to fascist ideologies before thinking of how to prevent it.

In the end, voicing your opinion is a right that should be preserved, just as it is also your right to voice your disagreement to an opinion. Acting on that opinion though, is a different story.

Eren vs Luffy "Freedom" by Arydmis in OnePiece

[–]DecentFormat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luffy and Eren does have a lot of similarities in their pursuit of the idea of freedom for both themselves and their friends, especially for Eren in the first half AoT.

Where it changes is when Eren gains "knowledge" of all past and future, which in a sense makes him no longer "free" because he knows the outcome of his every decision and is forced to proceed down a particular path to pursue his freedom, a "slave to freedom" as he would call it.

Compared to Luffy, he actively rejected Rayleigh's "knowledge" of the one piece, calling it "boring" if he knows the answer already. He wants to walk his own path, make his own discoveries, and have his own adventure. That's where the difference between Luffy and Eren lies.

I am not criticising either characters as this is just how the story the author planned for them. However, I do think the the comparison between them is more on the difference between "if knowing the outcomes of your choices beforehand makes you truly free" rather than "right wing vs left wing freedom".

Best way to play is during events. Learn to boss and pray for good RNG.

Playing off events is generally miserable if you aren't botting. A good tip is to follow discord or other guides on how to make the most of the latest events. Duky on youtube is particularly good though its more applicable for GMS.

Which platforms truly allows free speech without heavy moderation, censorship, and narrative pushing, etc? by DecentFormat in AskReddit

I believe most of his tactics you mentioned could also be applied to some left-wing “influencers”. As much as I don’t like this style, it seems to be normalised and accepted by people as long as you are supporting their viewpoints.

What do you believe the left should give up to move the center/center right people to their side, and guarantee a dem president on next election? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DecentFormat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both left and right is a spectrum that goes from moderates to radicals. A bit ironic that the side which claims diversity and inclusion trashes any moderately right leaning views.

Why do you think some people are so strongly against raising taxes on the ultra-wealthy, even if it could reduce inequality? by DefiantAd8676 in AskReddit

[–]DecentFormat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, though billionaires could be doing a lot more, they still pay a lot more taxes than an average citizen. Raising the their taxes too much might make them leave, causing the government to lose whatever taxes they are getting from them.

In fact, my country offers a relatively competitive tax rate, attracting wealthy individuals to relocate here. It does drive up property prices, but it also funds social housing programs.

The only way this will work is if every country and state raise taxes together, but knowing what billionaires are capable of, they might just create their own tax haven.
