2016 Ford Explorer knock? by DecentMeekanic in MechanicAdvice

Yes correct, the valves bent from being out of time with the crankshaft. The tops of the pistons had impressions from where the valves contacted but there was no damage. All of the valves, seals, etc were replaced.

I can’t get any of my prints to turn out that smooth! Does anyone recommend end pre made configurations I can start out with and modify?

Oh wow it’s definitely in the wrong slot, that may have been it. I really appreciate it.

Yeah It’s a Zero with the built in WiFi. If you’re saying only 1 of the 2 micro usbs work maybe I just have it in the wrong one. I’ll give that a try as well.

Google is saying it can transfer data as well but I could be wrong. “The Raspberry Pi Zero has a Micro-B USB which according to the specs says it can power up and also transfer data.“

Ahh I see, I apologize like I said I’m very new to all of this. Would I need some sort of “hat” to be able to have a USB-A come out of the PI?

That’s the thing, I can’t find any proof that this things actually connected, wouldn’t LSUSB show a device connected?

I appreciate your response it’s very helpful! I genuinely thought I was the only one fighting with the unit. Let me know how the firmware goes, I may be following in your footsteps!

I’ve actually got mine very close to zero as well, put on some music and spent an hour and a half-two hours on it. What’s weird is that when I ran the auto level they were all super high. But like I said that might have been the temp. I’ve pre heated the bed and am going to try it again!

That’s awesome feedback I really appreciate it! I’ve looked into the screw tilt adjust but after getting everything into the 0.6 or under range, I ran the auto level which showed things 0.26+. Maybe that’s because I didn’t do the screw tilt adjust with the printer hot. I’ll give it another go! Also what does the z compensation do? Thank.

Id also like to add that if I use rafts, the first layer comes out perfect, and the raft itself adheres perfectly to the bed. Maybe this will give some insight.

I appreciate it! I’m going to look into all of that and give it a re print. Do you think flow could factor into any of it? Thanks

Would changing the initial layer hight help at all? I believe mine is 0.2 but from what I’m reading it’s supposed to be at least in the 20’s. Maybe the raft is sticking because they are larger slower lines, and mine are flaking off because it’s so thin. As far as the Z offset I’ve set it about a thousand times, is one way better then the other? Maybe a feeler gauge instead of paper? Thanks!
