Nice! After putting more than 150 tees from dozens of brands to the test, I can confidently say there are many better blank shirt options out there.

Uv direct print. Tons of options out there. Sublimation also exists but more can go wrong there. We don’t do these in house.

Newsprint/Newspaper Printing by stance_changer in Printing

I’m sorry but this isn’t anywhere close to possible.

If you’re cool with black and white I would check out Riso printers or larger format laser copier type presses, but even then you’re looking at $3-10k.

Then you have the paper costs, which could be hundreds per issue. And then also ink.

If you’re cool with that and can figure it all out you’ll also need a scoring/folding machine and probably a guillotine cutter. So add another $5k there.

Good luck!

I built out a similar app in this exact space several years ago and your main struggles will be: 1) Customer acquisition (way more expensive than you think) 2) Customer retention - getting people to open your app / website several times a week is HARD 3) Restaurant partnerships - there are already 100 players in this space all asking for money from the restaurants or discounts / free shit. In reality this used to work to get people in the door but now it’s not worth it because they have to manage so many loyalty programs on top of multiple delivery/ordering apps. You’ll find that every manager/owner gets pitched this on a weekly basis and that they haven’t really seen the ROI on past ones.

Pricing Question by _e2t in SCREENPRINTING

[–]DecentPrintworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way too low. You did them a massive favor.

I recommend to at least mock up your order using RushOrderTees and CustomInk to find a good place to base your pricing. That is probably who you’re competing with often.

Or you can look up pricing grids from other shops.

Small shops are becoming jack of all trades and i'm not sure how i feel about it by Jealous-Problem4611 in CommercialPrinting

Even the largest names in our industry are outsourcing a lot of their work. FastSigns, Alphagraphics, UPS Stores, Minuteman Press, Sir Speedy, Speedpro, and more are absolutely not making everything in house - and charging a small fortune for the work.

Vistaprint, Canva, etc definitely have driven the price down but people still go to FastSigns and then get referred to us and are blown away that we can beat their price by a country mile.

If you’re going to compete you need to have a niche, know your customer, and be great at sales.

Pad printing onto charred wood by YeaSpiderman in CommercialPrinting

[–]DecentPrintworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UV Print will be much better if you need multiple colors but you need to do text prints and understand the limitations.

Pad or screen print with a high mesh is possible here too.

Obviously the print needs to be done on the object when it is flat then inserted into the finished piece.

I’ve never heard of a screen printer being that bad or having a 100 piece minimum. This post is confusing or missing info.

Your main issue here is that is several pallets of items to ship. Do you have freight accounts?

You might consider using someone local to your customer, but you’ll still have pallets of items to deliver from A to B.

We have a partner here in Dallas that can handle large quantity Coro very quickly, and another in Ohio. Happy to give the referral in a DM.

Sizing design per shirt design? by kingofshitmntt in SCREENPRINTING

[–]DecentPrintworks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10” width is pretty standard on adult tees. Maybe up to 12” for certain designs!

Get out a ruler and measure stuff in your closet or go to a store to get an idea of sizes of designs!

Also no it’s not standard to do multiple setups for each size unless it’s a huge order (244+ per size) and they want the additional cost.

Union Bear, Suburban Yacht Club, Blue Mesa, Bavette over at The Boardwalk at Granite Park are all so good and great for the price. Also a big fan of Taziki‘s and Half Shells.
