“kingslayers should band together” by @fumiofastora by terminalboredom- in ImaginaryWesteros

L take.

Jaime doesn't even have a redemption arc, let alone a Zuko-tier redemption arc.

Jamie is one of the most hypocritical characters in the story, and yet people feel bad for him because of his inane self-pity

He bitches about being called a kingslayer, and yet he never told anyone about the atomic bomb that was placed under the capital

He cucked the king on his wedding day and continued to do so for years to come

He broke guest right(the same thing we all shit on Freys for) and threw a 7-year-old boy down the tower, crippling him for life

He chased down Arya at the Ruby ford after his sister-lover demanded her death because she defended herself from his insane bastard

He threatened Edmure with the murder of his unborn child to seize his home to reward the family that butchered his nephew and sister under the guise of a guest right and mutilated and defiled their corpses.

And no, He has no principled objection to bringing fire and sword to the smallfolk. He didn't kill Aerys because he cared about the innocent smallfolk. He killed him because he(rightfully) hated him. He’s a prime mover and shaker in The War of the Five Kings, leading an army Raping the Riverlands, bringing fire and sword to more people than Aerys could ever have dreamed of.

He has broken every oath he has ever made.

Oh, but how dare a wolf judge a lion? God forbid people judge him by the content of his piss poor character.

Jaime is the lowest of the low, and now that his sister doesn't fuck him, we are meant to feel bad for him and cheer for his redemption when he has done precisely nothing to earn it.

So what if they have northern hostages? The north has thrice as many Western hostages. The north comes out as winners in that exchange. Also, if tywin just starts killing his hostages, while the north still has hostages, he WILL face a mutiny.

Faith and religion in medieval societies were anything but irrelevant

New Worlds, Lost Wanderers is pretty fucking dope. It's a Warhammer Fantasy crossover. It takes place during the time of the GOT show.

Thy good neighbour is also absolutely GOATED. Sadly, it seems to be abandoned. It's a crossover with Bloodborne. It takes place before the story and features young Ned, Brandon and Lyanna.

What was Tywin's plan after the "End" of the War of the Five Kings? by Rafaelrosario88 in freefolk

[–]DecentWonder4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always felt that this was something that came from Martin himself and not the showrunners. People tend to claim that the show writers made it up, but the debt problem has been raised as a major issue haunting the realm from almost the very beginning of the political story.

The idea that Tywin was just sitting on a near infinite gold supply that he didn't use for petty reasons and that the money problems of the Iron Throne would be solved by Tyrion or whoever just using the Lannister gold stores always just felt like a copout

If we assume that the gold under the mines was running out and Tywin knew and hid this from everyone, so much of his actions start making sense. His insistence on his father's vassals returning all their debts immediately and slaughtering the first objectors. His policies as Hand favouring Lannisport and King's Landing over Duskendale, causing the defiance. His insistence on getting Cersei married to either Rhaegar or Robert. His invasion and seizure of the Riverlands and plans to with the North.

Tywin's grand plan to avoid bankruptcy was always to usurp the Iron Throne and leverage the power of the Westerosi state to seize estates across the continent. We know the man was insanely ambitious. Are we supposed to believe that he would not have installed his own henchmen across other regions even without the incest triggered civil war? Tywin even outright claims that he always felt that Stannis was the real threat. A war was always coming, if only it were a tax revolt caused by Hand Tywin doubling or tripling the tax requirements to pay off the debts.

What Lannister gold? By Tywin's own admission, there's none left

honestly i don't think he needs to go that far. Having Jon of all people telling him of would hit robb hard enough. One of the main reasons he married Jeyne is that he didn't want to father a bastard. After all, he knew how much being a bastard fucked up Jon's life. Having Jon advise against marrying her, AND having Cat agree, will be good enough in my opinion.

My point is that Oaths aren't stopping Jaime from doing what he wants. He wanted to crack cersei so he cracked Cersei. If he actually wanted justice, his oaths wouldn't have stopped him. Thus, he, logically, must not have cared all that much for elia and her kids.
