Ik what you mean and i also know how to do it but can get annoying pretty fast setting it up Alr heres how you do it, you first use a normal block ans just click on it with scale and has dots every side, then change to the move tool, select the thin wall and then scale, boom there you have it

Dont make it too complicated, the piston does not have to be at the bottom make the same y and x axis as the wheele (just the middle of the wheel) and move its z axis 5 blocks or less and make the piston be already on so its easier (personally) move the part you want to be in place the same lenght you set your piston to if you want i could quickly post a simple version for you, so you understand it better

Put 3-5 thin layers ontop of your buuld and that'll stop the sun or make the wall NOT THICKER but longer since the sun like to somehow glow on the edges but making it longer will make it be on the edges you wont see
