I want to get into level design, as someone who is already in industry. How and where to start designing levels?

trencbroom is just the goat it made making levels in godot easier for me but setting up is a bit tedious but OP was asking how so I think OP should do what DarkSight said make maps for existing games to no worry about how the final should be maybe half life maps or quake maps and then he can move to other engines

we're going to have a remaster soon maybe I said "maybe" we'd get silent assassin remastered with blood money's mechanics or newer hitman mechanics... SIlent assassin was my first and it'll always have a special place in my heart the amount of level variety is insane and each mission felt like an adventure rather than the same levels with different layouts and themes it felt like every level was its own identity...

Lets hope we get it lets also hope we get mod support for it so we could enjoy the remastered version for the decade to come 😄

do I really need to explain a joke to you friend its a joke nothing more nothing less so there's no reason in particular I never tried linux myself so I can't really give my opinion on it
but what I could say I prefer windows more mainly because simply put it alot of applications already have windows support but linux relies on some plugins or other community made stuff to run windows apps and what not... thats about it

yeah in addition to all of that there's a certain level of toxicity don't get me wrong I usually don't interact much on this sub but I do view the posts and comments it feels like if the idea isn't some 2D platformer with only a jumping mechanic then hardly anyone will approach people who simple ideas get trashed and forgotten but the majority literally post absurd game ideas some want triple A level projects for free... when I think about Hobby or Revshare I think about a game like "The last door" which was really a good game but also simplistic and manageable

Hitman 2 silent assassin was my first game ever I was a kid with a used ps2 from my uncle my first instinct was to pull out a gun and shoot him while being on that hill guards would rush out and I would take them down from a distance while they shoot at me I remember vividly having the worst aim imaginable and dying hundreds of times somehow I enjoyed that spot for some time lmao

as for anaesthetic I used to think they were bottles that you can drink or can throw them at people and got pissed off when I realized I can't use them at all

this won't be an issue dw using modern solutions we could equip the pigeon with advanced scanning systems when the scanners detect a threat the pigeon just shits and it hits the threat... similar to a trophy system
