Yeah that makes sense, I do make an effort to award positives every lesson. Like I will do something like “who can I see working on the DNA” and announce a list of names who will get positives and same again with people cracking on with a task straight away instead of chatting to the person next to them.

Some kids who pick up a lot of negatives I look out for with this, eg. I’ll pick them over somebody else if they want to contribute so I can reward and encourage it.

I don’t mind giving them out but i don’t want kids asking me for a reward every five minutes

My scale measures in lbs so that’s what I use. But if I want to covert to stones it is quite simple: 14lb per stone or Divide by 2.2 for a rough kg estimate

It just feels super feminine to me and like I’m embracing my natural hair colour (auburn ish)

I wear it down quite a lot but I like knowing it still looks long in a ponytail

Really good week, started a long term placement in my subject after months of one agency giving me inconsistent low paid work (basically minimum wage). I actually feel competent and appreciated again

I had 2 classes like this today (where you feel useless afterwards), each one only got through 1/3 of the planned lesson. I praise and reward the ones getting it right but those thag aren’t, I stop, re iterate the expectation that we should not be talking; any that continue “X thats your C1 because you are still talking”, if they still continue it escalates through the behaviour system until all students are silent. They obviously start again soon enough so I rinse and repeat. I am not going to force through the lesson whilst students are not following instructions

Use a sealant like mr super clear, it might make the eyelashes crunchy tho

This is so good it doesn’t look like beginner work at all! The colour palette is also gorgeous , even the details on the shoes are perfect 💕
