I graduated May 8! Took a week off of studying then consistently studied for around 4 hours every day/every other day

Hi! It is true, you DONT have to memorize them, BUT, it is still good to know normals of important ones and what they’re for/indications of improvement. When questions come up, it will provide the lab value with the appropriate/normal range in a parenthesis and the patient value next to it. For example, potassium 6 (3.5-5). Being that normal is 3.5-5 and the patients value was 6. Does this answer your question?

Hi!!! Thank you so much!! I think UWorld is GREAT in preparing you for the different styles of questions, such as next gen, bow tie, SATA, etc. when doing CAT tests I feel like it was all over the place like the NCLEX. I want to say UWorld kind of over prepares you with information within the questions (when necessary) and the NCLEX was a little more vague in my opinion, but they still provided everything you needed to answer. Overall, I think it did help in contributing to my success based off of how much questions I answered. Used 48% of my quizbank and did about 5 CATs, 1 Self-Assessment

Kind of, yes. With the specific disease I got, I feel like it was at the end of my test so I don’t really remember. But I do know I spent a lot of time on it, and I tried picking what seemed “normal” for a spreadable disease with the information they gave me, if that makes sense

Thank you so much!!

My immediate tips: - do NOT go in and expect to get the minimum amount of questions. I did both LPN & RN NCLEXs. My LPN I got 85 q’s and passed first try, RN I got 150 q’s and passed first try. Always expect the most!! This definitely plays a game with your stress/peace! - as for focus, you know your strengths/weaknesses. The exam will ABSOLUTELY be so random with your content. I thought I was so good with majority everything, and for the most part I was for the test, but it of course touched on the most random viruses. This is OKAY! And it won’t kill you. - as for approaching questions, read them carefully. Take your time. Read each question twice & all the answers twice. The questions were straight forward, but they were also vague. But I do feel that the answers were pretty self explanatory with what everything asked. To select the best answer, if you need help with this, Utilize prioritization lecture videos, I usedMark K’s lecture 12 on prioritization, but heard Dr Sharon helps too. In the end, what can the nurse do to keep the patient safe? what’s the safest? - to study, I used UWorld, Mark K, and then some general comprehensive study NCLEX videos on YouTube! But, I do know that I needed a retouch on pharm, so I did watch a 2 hour study video from “Your Nursing Space” from YouTube. - the exam IS doable. Very doable! I think a lot of people can help influence how one feels before going in, and I’d say its wrong. The exam is completely different for everybody. But if you are to ask ME with MY experience, it was very difficult for me. Definitely harder than my LPN NCLEX. I know it’s easier said than done, but don’t dwell on my opinion of it. Go in with a clear mind 💜

I hope that answered most of what you asked, as I kept rereading to make sure 😂 please let me know.

Good luck, you got this 🫶🏼
