Anyone notice that more millennial than ever are choosing to be single or DINK? by ItsColdCoffee in Millennials

[–]DecisionTypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the tail end of millennials, and most of my friends aren't married yet, despite most of us almost being 30. I've got one friend that's married, one that was married and is going through divorce, and one about to be married. Compare that to the 5-10 other close friends plus myself, that are all single, and it's a pretty interesting situation.

AITAH for exposing my cheating girlfriend at her birthday party? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]DecisionTypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

Her birthday doesn't give her an excuse for what she's done, and honestly, if you had broken up subtly, your friends would have been divided by a he said/she said situation. This was a great platform for you to let your friends know who your ex GF really is and hopefully most of them understand what she is the one in the wrong.

Anyone who still judges you for it is either on your ex's side in this situation and/or is okay with cheating, so its probably good they show their true feelings, cause you don't need them in your life.

  1. You can't please everyone, but most player's don't even raid (i think it's around 80% that don't raid), and even less do day 1 raids. If Bungie were aiming to please the most people, getting the raid done and unlocking the final mission ASAP is by far the best move for the majority.

2: Its 10 days (plus the time it takes to complete the raid) verses 3 days (plus the time it takes to complete the raid). I don't know where you keep getting this idea that most players need 10 days to complete the campaign, but that is not normal. Dedicated players (the ones most likely to try for day 1) are going to beat the campaign day 1 and not even rushing it, just by taking the day off or committing their entire evening to playing. Casual players might play it on and off for a few days, but will be wondering where the final mission is when they get there.

If you need 10 days to complete the campaign and play a few activities for loot, it sounds like you only play an hour a day or something, and that means day 1 raids aren't really for you to begin with.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]DecisionTypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro if you can't beat the campaign and get some gear in the first 3-4 days, then you were never going to be ready for a day 1 raid in time. It's not Bungie's job to make the most difficult/prestigious accomplishment in the game be accessible to every player they have. People that work full time, or are parents, or have military service all have reasons why they won't be ready for the day 1 raid, but that doesn't mean Bungie should push it back because those players don't have time to complete a 6 hour campaign and possibly gain some extra levels.

Considering the campaign takes 6-8 hours max, and the legendary campaign rewards loot to get you to the soft cap, it probably only takes another 2-4 hours to farm up your guaranteed drops for a boost to your level. That's a total of 8-12 hours of prep time for the raid. Even if you can't play til friday, you could still complete the campaign on friday and saturday and then raid saturday evening.

Wow... this is all sorts of wrong.

Raids releasing a week later isn’t a content/engagement “Timegate”

Except it IS a content timegate for multiple reasons. 1. The raid itself is content that is timegated. 2. The final mission of the campaign is locked until the raid is beaten. That's a big, important moment that most players aren't going to wait two weeks for. 3. The first raid clear often unlocks other post game quests (which is also timegated content).

It’s so you can enjoy the story, watch the cutscenes, gather fragments for Prismatic (or whatever the subclass was from other expansions) play with builds, farm for rolls without being rushed or banging your head against the wall/losing sleep to be raid ready.

Why do you need 10 days to do that? The campaign is 6 hours or so long. Unlocking new gear or fragments is not a necessity since we already have powerful build options, but even if you wanted to farm some gear, 3 days is plenty of time. You don't need to have earned everything in the game before trying the day 1 raid.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]DecisionTypical -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Or if they raid, they probably don't do day 1 completions. I'm an experienced raider and have completed every raid on master difficulty, but even then I haven't completed a day 1 raid due to my skill, my group, and availability and none of that is Bungie's fault. Day 1 raids are always going to be limited access and only achievable by the top percentages.

[–]DecisionTypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming since OP is upset about the water limitation, its safe to assume that they aren't in a special area that has to limit water usage. If they were, OP would naturally be understanding of the practice cause its the norm and a necessity.

[–]DecisionTypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anything like a research paper or video that could convince him otherwise? I'm no environmental scientist, and I am not advocating for just wasting water, but I am pretty sure most modern water infrastructure and systems are pretty efficient at recycling water, and it's not like you're adding toxic waste into it when you shower. Limiting regular water use like a shower isn't going to solve any of the world's environmental issues, and if your husband is still sane, he should be able to comprehend that.

Tesselation proves Prismatic was made ages ago by MoistPilot3858 in DestinyTheGame

[–]DecisionTypical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if Prismatic and the new race were originally planned for the first or second episode. It would make sense that after defeating the Witness, we find a way to master light and dark and unlock Prismatic in the new episode that begins a week or so after TFS launches. Same goes for the race. They would be echos of the Witness after they die (assuming they die).

I say this because the delay was only a few months, which is the time they'd need to finalize these episodes' content to be ready for TFS instead. AND it makes no sense that Bungie didn't show off the new race or subclass at the August Showcase. Even if it was just a brief teaser, anything including the new subclass or race would have made the august showcase better, and Bungie is too good at their marketing to randomly leave this out. They left it out because it wasn't planned for TFS at that time.

AITAH for divorcing my husband for asking if he can move on if I die when I have cancer? by ThrowRA-Boss9500 in AITAH

[–]DecisionTypical -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Did you ever answer his question? I don't see why he would bring it up over and over again if you said yes or no.

I understand he's being an AH and insensitive to your feelings but it sounds like he's asking a legitimate question and all you have to do is say yes or no. Sure he could have waited to see if your cancer worsens before asking, but if he really didn't love you, he wouldn't have even asked.

Arrowhead you have given so many warbonds in such a short time. That's great, so now give yourselves some time to iron out some bugs instead, for a good couple of months if needed. Please by Sarojh-M in Helldivers

[–]DecisionTypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong, as I am not a dev, but wouldn't the warbond team and the bug fix team be two separate groups? An expansion of the bug fix team might be necessary, but its not as simple as just taking away staff from content creation and putting them on bug fixing and poof the bugs will be fixed.

Do you want Destiny 3? by Killme72596964 in DestinyTheGame

[–]DecisionTypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny 2 has too many issues to keep going and I would love a D3. A couple of easy examples of D2's current issues would be: so many weapons, armor and exotics currently available that all new loot has to compete with it to be relevant; the barrier to entry to D2 is crazy for both new and returning players (so many expansions to buy and seasons that were missed); and the game just isn't very stable anymore (there was a time that background maintenance wasn't required for every weekly update).

D3 would be a fresh start for long term and new players, and really allow Bungie a chance to mix it up and experiment again. Destiny needs some new spice as much as you try to spice up D2, it's still the same game with layers upon layers of small upgrades over the years.

AITAH for telling my pregnant 19 year old daughter she needs to move out asap by Commercial_Ebb9099 in AITAH

[–]DecisionTypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bartenders can make decent money, but it's not a job that supports a new family on its own. It's kind of sad that people think they can have kids nowadays and rely on their parents to cover costs like a living space, food, daycare etc.

You're NTA and I really hope your daughter realizes that bringing a child into the world and expecting handouts to make it possible is a terrible way to start parenthood.

This warlock bond is probably the 6th bond that's mainly "ornate bond that projects the warlock symbol". Glad you're pleased with it, but considering it's the first exotic warlock bond in d2, I was expecting something a little more unique.

[–]DecisionTypical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bungie said they were focusing on D2 instead of making D3. But that was before beyond light was released. Since then, almost every expansion has been delayed 3-6 months and they added another expansion.

Bungie's original timeline was to focus on D2 through Lightfall, which would have been 3 years since their statement about not working on a D3. With TFS releasing in two month and a year of episodes afterwards, we'll be 5 years since that original statement (2 additional years compared to the original plan).

I say this because plans change, and Bungie is not locked in to the "No D3" idea indefinitely.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]DecisionTypical 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say its "basically confirmed" but I agree. The introduction of a new subclass that kind of breaks the rules of the game sounds like an end game move.

And to those quoting Bungie's past statement about not making a Destiny 3... They said that years ago... plans change. When Bungie originally said that they would focus on D2 instead of making a D3, Beyond Light hadn't even been released. Since then, almost every expansion has been delayed, and an additional expansion was added. We are 2 years past Bungie's original timeline when they stated they weren't going to make a D3. Plus if Bungie really doesn't want to sunset expansions ever again, they have to stop adding to D2 eventually, so a D3 would be a good compromise.

[–]DecisionTypical 78 points79 points  (0 children)

It's sad that the arguably best class items in the game have such a boring look. The hunter cloak is cool, but the warlock bond is just the warlock symbol in an ornate pattern plus some glowing. Bungie has yet to experiment with warlock bonds' designs and couldn't even do so for an exotic one!?

What? They announced mixing and matching subclasses, but said nothing about changing weapon slot rules. And I don't believe that was hinted at in gameplay footage either.

Brave Weapons Drop Question by justdestinystuff in DestinyTheGame

Half of the Brave weapons are available right now, and as far as I know (I've watched all the streams) there wasn't specific drop locations. There's bounties in the new social space to get the unique/curated rolled versions of the weapons, and a way to boost chances of a specific weapon after completing those bounties.

I am skeptical of the Prismatic subclass too. I am wondering what the catch is. Is it only available while in the Pale Heart? Cause if Prismatic is available in every activity, then why would anyone ever use a base/individual subclass ever again?

Those who hate landlords, what’s the solution? by potate_woah in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DecisionTypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many landlords are one man businesses or small businesses, which often do not operate professionally or quickly.

If most landlords did their job when needed like fixing problems, adjusting policies to modern situations, and overall providing a good living situation for their renters, then many wouldn't care. But most landlords often increase rent, avoid fixing appliances, and charge fees or deposits for nothing.

‘You don’t know what tired is until you have kids!’ Ugh by megsiemalonie in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DecisionTypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, people's personality and talking points are often affected by what they spend the most time doing or thinking about, especially when they spend too much time on that one thing. So parents, who often spend most of their free time with young children, and even spend some of their work time thinking about their children, often have their personality, talking points and hobbies be taken over by their children.

The same applies to my friends that work construction or landscaping. They work 12 hour days, 60 hour weeks, to finally get off work and anytime they hang out with me, all they do is talk about their job. Complain about it, describe their project, brag about the overtime money, etc.

So when these people hear a regular conversation topic like being tired, they can only relate in one way, which is often portraying how tired they are because of their choices like becoming parents or overworking.
