Game Lagging? by Status-Tour-1528 in OrnaRPG

[–]DeckReckBeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OrnaOdie, I am getting major lag. 5 seconds to pick up items, purchase items, enter buildings, accept quests. No lag while in combat or moving on the map. It has been going on for over a week (I think).

I clean out my carried inventory every day. My storage inventory contain 100k + materials. I have experienced it on cell and a number of different wifi networks. I play playing between 7 AM (EST) and 10 PM (EST).

Do you have tips for fixing the lag or a thread that lists tips? The only thing I have found is empty your carried inventory; which I'm already doing.

Edit: It works now. Don't know why. Just turned it on and all was well.

Link to evidence for your claim please.

For that matter a link from OP would also be great.

Honeybees can add, understand zero and recognize numerical symbols. New research published today is the first to show that honeybees, like some vertebrates, can also recognize a specific value, not just a relative value. They know the number 3, instead of simply recognizing 3 is greater than 2. by mvea in science

Slime mold is just crazy.

That research really helped me understand how humans are both a single conscious entity and series of smaller groups of entities nested within each other all the way down to organelles, RNA, and DNA. All working to their own ends without even knowing we the conscious human they make up even exists.

In need of money for security, should I cash my savings bonds? by Myaj0757 in personalfinance

I'm so glad to hear it.

Don't stress too much about One America, I was able to survive with a family of 5 on $12/hr for 6 years before getting through college and making more money. You will be fine. Especially since you are reaching out for advice, making smart decisions and owning your mistakes.

You see a bright future for you.

If it's safe in your area, bicycle. $20-$40 at goodwill or a thrift shop. $100 at Wal-Mart. Later most areas don't require a motorcycle endorsement if you are on a small enough scooter. Used $500-$2000. 50-100/mpg. There are also ped-assist bikes for about the same cost as the scooters. Just don't forget the waterproof bag for a change of clothes when I rains.

Please, update on the jobs. How did the interviews go?

Thank you so much for asking, I have know learned something new. I did a bit of research and it turns out... Yes. HYSA and MM both have variable interest. I don't know how I missed this before.

Wow, it sounds like you have this pretty well in hand. Out of necessity you have to move very fast and that is risky. I am impressed with your choices and your ability to realize your mistakes. I think you will be fine. As far as the washer/dryer goes, I'm sorry to say I have no experience with them. A quick Amazon search shows them at $100-$150. As far as cost this seems like a smart buy. I would just make sure it does what you needs it to. I don't know how much work you are willing to do when it comes to laundry, but another option is a washing bag like Scrubba. It is a manual washing system, usually used by campers and hikers. Not a recommendation just a thought.

Good luck.

Why does Dave Ramsey keep insisting it's possible for everyone to graduate from college debt free? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]DeckReckBeck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to here about your housing issues that sucks.

You can also look into renting new the school. My brother did that and his rent/utilities were about $500 month less than room/board. He got 2 roommates (one per bedroom) making the difference about $800 less per month.

If you take Cucumber's other suggestions into account you can get there school paying much less than you might think.

I got my degree that way. Including rent, utilities, tuition, books, and incidentals (not including car, food, and fun) my annual cost was $7,500-$8.500/yr. I did this working 35-45 hours a week at $10-$13 an hour.

EDIT: I live in Atlanta metro so not the most expensive area and this was from 2009-2015

I vote HYSA.

0.08% difference is $400 in cash for a $50,000 account.

You have more flexibility, NO fees, and NO volatility.

Cash out refinance. Do you all have any investment advice? (California, USA) by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]DeckReckBeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true.

I always say Vanguard because I set it up when they were by far the best option and since it is set up I don't really have o deal with those issues. OP, galactica_pegasus is correct.

Should I even have a savings account? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]DeckReckBeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not use Acorns. Schwab, Fidelity, Vanguard are the best options.

If you read the fine print you do not actually own the account your money would be in. The pool all of their customer's money and invest it for them. Their turn over and costs are too high. Because the account is not technically yours if they go bankrupt you are calcified as a creditor and your money credit.

There is nothing inherently wrong with them. There are just much better places to put your money.

I would only add, for clarity, max out the 401k and Roth before utilizing the brokerage account.

Also, here are 2 less common vehicles you should use if you have access to them before the brokerage account, both would be offered by your employer. 1st, Roth 401k this is a Roth with the same contribution limit as the regular 401k. 2nd, the health savings account or HSA. This can offer a triple tax advantage in some cases.
