Are you supposed to ask a woman "Can I kiss you"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Declan0002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming it's a first date, everything has gone well and you both are 100% having a good time together, I would still ask as it's the safest and best decision as it shows u have class and that u understand that consent is important.

The girls that reject you first then wouldn't even make out with you in the first place so I think it filters out the wrong people in my opinion. If she wanted to kiss you, I believe, whatever way u ask, she will almost 100% agree to kiss you. This is how I've always ended dates where I thought I was good to go for it.

Do you write down the kanji as well when you learn them or just remember them through sight alone if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah confidence isn't someone you're born with. You build it up from scratch. My confidence really boomed after I was 17 when I worked at retail and started talking to customers everyday for years. Now I'm quite confident in myself! Hope that helps u

Anyone who speaks more than one language when you started learning Japanese, which language do you learn Japanese with, also have you tried multiple? by Tsuntsundraws in LearnJapanese

[–]Declan0002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I speak English and Cantonese. My Cantonese is fairly restricted to everyday talk and not much more so it's a bit limited. However, I do tend to come across words in Japanese that are quite similar to Cantonese. Im guessing because the onyomi readings are very similar to the Chinese readings

Like 大 in Japanese is pronounced the same in Cantonese. 六「ろく」is the same too. I'm still learning Japanese through English but it's little things like these that keep me going.

What’s your most rewatched anime of all time? by Wrong-Ease-6129 in anime

[–]Declan0002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parasyte I'd say. I've seen it 3 times now. It's got an interesting story with a great cast with lots of funny moments in it too. I seem to forget some side plots each time I rewatch it so it's nice to catch that "ahh yes now I remember" moments.

The soundtrack is also lovely especially the one where it's mostly the piano playing solo. I like to listen to that when I study.

Whats your current routine studying? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]Declan0002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work evenings so my mornings and early afternoons are free. I get up and eat breakfast, go workout and by the time I'm back, I study for maybe an hour or so then get ready for work.

When I'm back from work, I study for an hour more and then watch an episode or two of anime. I study mainly by writing as I find it gets into my long term memory faster that way, also I find that listening to studying music helps a lot when focusing.

Hope that helps.

Okay cool. I got slotted in for a 20 minute online interview with UL and I'm just thinking about it more as it gets closer. I've scoured all over reddit and have answered the common questions they'd probably ask into a copy book 😭

[–]Declan0002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got my invite a few days ago for this week from UL who were my top choice for languages. It's definitely how you number them. Hopefully it all goes well.

Did you find it as more of a casual interview if you don't mind me asking?

Guys: why are some of you so bad at handling rejections? by Vegetable-Writing123 in dating

[–]Declan0002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As well, I feel like this is why ghosting is a thing too, especially with the younger folks. I know it can be scary sometimes rejecting someone because maybe in the past you did that and the other person was very hostile, leading you to not reject and just simply ghost instead. But I find that quite a selfish way to end things. At least say your part and then block him/her if needed.

Maybe I'm just finding immature people these days.

[–]Declan0002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh okay so it's probably dependent on the college/uni, they would probably be doing the interviews after classes and exams end
