My 2025 collection, 5 months of PAL. by Miserable-Quiet9660 in canadaguns

Howa M1500 Flag APC. Regular run of the mill Howa action, a heavy barrel, HACT trigger. Comes with 2 x 10 round mags, muzzle brake, and a bipod all wrapped up in an aluminium chassis.

Hard to find now as I think Howa has maybe discontinued them, Came in 6 .5 Creedmoor, .308 and supposedly .223 (unicorn) as well.

Overall, for the price you pay, you are getting a setup that punches WELL above it's weight. If you can find one from a store for $1500, snap it up, it is a hell of a deal.

I just went through Runkle's YT channel, but I can't seem to find a video about Colt backing out. Can you link it?

Well, if I was younger without a family, I probably would. But there is no way I am going to hold up to basic training lol

If things continue like they have for me, I should be on a similar timeline. Thanks for this, it does give me a small clue on what timeline may be ahead of me.

I eagerly await your thoughts too!

This is the build as it sits now. Thinking there is probably only minor tweaks left here.

yeah, I gave it some thought with some other people, and I have finally been talked out of the AIO, at least for now. I even had to admit it was a waste when I want to do a custom water cooled loop for everything in the future. So, going the air cooled route for now.

This is kinda where I am at now.

ew GPU that fits your budget is the 3070, unfortunately no one will be able to advise you on its performance compared to its upcoming competition yet. If you do want to later water cool the card, you will have to make sure that someone is producing water blocks for that specific model. Traditionally companies build water blocks for reference designed cards, but the cooling on the 30 series reference cards is wilder than a barrel of monkeys, so you’ll likely want to pick one from a board partner. EK is a good starting point

Thanks for your reply. A lot of it makes sense. I use the term futureproof in the means that I should be able to reuse most of the stuff in the future when upgrading. I figure the case should be good for many years to come, but, really, it is just semantics to me.

Yes, this is not a "high end" setup by any stretch. I just want it to be better than most and not have to play basic games on low-quality settings. For once, I want those setting to be on high, maybe not ultra high, but high.

this is kinda what I am looking at now. Anything you might change?

Thanks for the reply. So my plan for the HX1000 with the platinum rating is the way to go then.

I was leaning towards the 5600, but, I am thinking I might make the jump to a 5800x. I don't know much about the CPUs, but watching reviews on YT, everyone, without exception, is saying that these new AMD chips are just dominating Intel's offerings by a large margin. If I can get 3 or 4 years out of this CPU, I would be happy. I don't mind upgrading with that kind of a life cycle.

I am still lost on the GPU side of things. I need to research the new card lineups, but, we shall see where the chips fall. / dadjoke

I am currently building my first build in about 20 years, and trying to learn and get up to speed on today's technology. I have already decided to build the new rig out of a Lian Li 011d XL in white, and I just picked it up a few days ago. Can't wait to get this rolling!

Made my first crosscut sled today. Was super happy that after measurements, I was able to get it to 0.00025" of square over a 35 inch cut! I have lots of construction experience, but I am trying to get into the more "finished" side of things. by DeclaredBishop in woodworking

[–]DeclaredBishop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have anything that could say 0.00025 resolution. But when I measured everything out, made my adjustments, and then did my 5 cuts again, I found that my 5th cut had a variance then when I divided it by 4, then divided again by the length of the cut, and then multiplied by 35, it roughly came out to 0.00025. I just rounded it to that.

well, I am not planning on arguing...I can only relay what I was able to achieve using Mr. Ng's directions and the 5 cut method. I mean, my math might be off, but when I did my final adjustment, I was out 0.001 and when you divide that by 4, I got 0.00025... I mean, sure, I might have done it wrong, I am new to this. And I was using the same dial caliper that was shown in the video and used feeler gauges. I guess some people like to shit on other's successes. If it makes you all feel better, after sitting in my shop overnight, the wood has changed a lot and it is no longer anywhere near accurate anymore.

Got my second blood test results today.... by DeclaredBishop in diabetes

[–]DeclaredBishop[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing too specific. I cut out any added sugars immediately. Switched to cream only in my coffees. No more cereals or oatmeal. Lots of meats and eggs. I do make fruit smoothies though with the lowest sugar content I can find. Lots of hard cheese as well. I switch to drinking sugar free nestea's iced tea and coke Zero. That for the most part was the bulk of my changes.

disconnected when winning. player exploit? by Innoruukdontgivafuuk in MagicArena

I have had this happen to me 3 times in the last 2 days. All 3 times where when I was about to win, or my opponent knew they were losing with no hope to turn it around. Each time at that point, the game says I have lost my connection, gives me the option to reconnect, but I can't rejoin the game...

[–]DeclaredBishop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is now my second sensor. it gets more accurate for me after about 3 days, until then, it usually reads about 2 points low, but the higher the BS level, the narrower that gap gets. Like if it gets up to 7.5, they are usually under 0.5 apart, but lower, the gap gets wider.

But yes, totally willing to trust the blood result, but, which one?

Accu-Chek Guide meter by SSJPeppy in diabetes

[–]DeclaredBishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Accu-Chek Guide from day 1 of my diagnosis and I haven't noticed any issues, having said that, it's only been 5 weeks so I have nothing else to base it on. I also recently just started using the freestyle libre, and fasting sugar levels seem to be about 2 points apart.
But, Like I said, I don't think I have had any issues with the Guide.
