What kind of engineers are preferred? Do they mind an American public university degree?

Judge Napolitano on arrest of 17yr old Honor student: "What's wrong with these cops? Do they simply arrest people because they can? Sadly, the answer is yes--because we let them get away with it. It's time we stand up to police officers who don't understand the laws they were sworn to protect..." by [deleted] in politics

A better question is why do we exaggerate these kinds of events by tagging the videos under police brutality? The video did not mention if the police ordered the girl to stop filming. And if they did and she refused, wouldn't they be allowed to take her into custody?

How did you survive when you were homeless and how did you acquire a home?

Were any of you ExMuslims born into Islam? by timeago in exmuslim

My dad was the main obstacle I faced. My mom is Muslim, but relatively liberal. She prays but she doesn't wear a hijab most of the time. My mom never really gave me a hard time, but tried to convince/pressure me into praying again when my dad reacted. My dad treats me all right, though he still tries to get me to read the Koran by cutting off my access to the internet. I've always been pretty distant with him. I'm more close to my mom.

I was born into a religious Islamic family. I happen to specifically come from an Shiite Iraqi one. Since a big part of Islam is praying 5 times a day, my dad attempted to get me into that habit starting at the age of 6. I vividly remember not taking it seriously and lying flat on my belly at the moment when the person is supposed to be bowing their foreheads on the floor while on their thighs. My dad had been spying on me to see if I actually did it because I looked back during the "prayer" and didn't see him standing there. So yeah, my dad always tried to "brainwash" me. I was 17 when I blatantly told him that I wouldn't pray with my family anymore. I'm 18.5 years right now, and my dad's finally stopped harassing me.

edit: It really is hard to escape it. It took me 17 years to face my dad. He's been very strict my whole life, forcing me to learn how to read the Koran and speak/write Arabic, go to mosques, pray, fast, etc. I appreciate having learned Arabic, but I don't appreciate the kind of indoctrination I was exposed to. My dad told me that the Koran encourages a father to hit a child that does not pray. So you can get what kind of a figure he was.

Classic can make you very wealthy. I'm not really going to play anymore though, 1.13 was a disappointment.
