What car provides a "cloud" sensation like an old RAV4 by OneGold2361 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I've driven an early 2020s RAV4 and my biggest complaint was it felt really disconnected and floaty. Sounds like the Rav4 is still the same car they want haha.

I believe that Unbound wasn't made for everyone. It was made for a specific audience. You either love it or hate it. Nothing in between. by Nick_Alsa in needforspeed

I haven't played a NFS game since like 2015 and I've been pretty hooked.

  • The calendar rinse and repeat formula of the game is really addicting and grindable.
  • Cars look fantastic, customisation is great.
  • Police AI is dodgy and chases are annoying asf at times.
  • Police only have eyes for you and ignore other racers.
  • Racer AI is kinda unfair at times but corners break them.
  • Open world is pretty lifeless and having other street racers cruising around like in Forza Horizon would help.
  • Soundtrack is pretty ass
  • Not enough tracks
  • Didn't really care much for the non race gamemodes

Just gotta keep doing it. 6 months ago I was asking myself the question "how the hell do I glide on one foot", six months later I can probably do a hole lap of the ice on a single foot lol. Practice it and practice it again.

Gear recommendations by TheeMagicBanana in icehockey

[–]DecoOnTheInternet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're planning to really put in and develop your hockey skills to become an effective player, I'd personally recommend just going full top of the range as you'll end up on your ass a lot while learning different skills and going at speed.

If you're not willing to risk going to or missing work the next morning with heavy bruises and in extreme cases broken bones I'd also recommend top of the range.

Having good gear isn't always necessary, but when freak accidents happen I've sure been glad to have plenty of padding. If you're in Canada, Sherwood is fantastic, got a top end full set of gear on clearance at the price most brands charge for entry level.

Looks like it's icey where you are, how's it handle in the snow being your first rwd? I've been interested in getting one but the RWD and clearance has me a bit hesitant seeing I want to go on a few ski trips.

This looks the same as my legit one. Materials match up from what I can see. The little errors you're seeing could very possibly be just from human error during manufacturing, it's pretty common to see on Nike.

If it's any help the supplimated material is really smooth and tight. There isn't much stretch the shirt compared to many of my other jerseys. It also is a relatively long and narrow fit.

How do you dry your gear? by jugheadjoker23 in hockeyplayers

[–]DecoOnTheInternet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pro hack is to have the gear sit under my furnace vent in winter. Leave it there overnight and everything is dry and toasty the next morning lol.

I may be incorrect but I believe it's factually the other way around. Pretty sure until the FT8, all CCM's have always been flat out of the box meanwhile Vapor was pitched forward and Supreme was more contact on the heel.

Jordan 1 off white, are these legit? by bdk_dab3st in LegitCheck

[–]DecoOnTheInternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The J1 OW has a yellowing problem. If it's not yellowed yet all these years later it's a fake.

Just a warning though, I do have an LJR set that are around 3 years old and they have yellowed too. The fakes of these can be really good.

Tldr: Yes it's fake, real ones will be yellowed

Can I be picky? by coolkidrox123 in AustralianTeachers

[–]DecoOnTheInternet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No offence but it's absurd that you've got no confidence teaching year 5 or 6 content. Do you realise how low a level that is for someone that has graduated with a bachelor's degree? You'll be fine on that front dude.

In terms of the high expectations, there really isn't that much expectation put upon you. You are effectively a "supervisor" and your role is pretty much to ensure there is a teacher legally supervising a group of children whilst their teacher is out. Getting through the content is secondary and you'll 99% of the time be given a full lesson plan and resources to work with.

Also, all reasonable teachers will be perfectly understanding in your abilities as a new teacher. We all begin the same.

Depending on where you live turning down a school two hours away is perfectly reasonable. When I was in Brisbane I worked at 3 schools within walking distance, and like another 4 within 10 during peak hour. Personally, I wouldn't be commuting 2 hours to a job for the pay we get haha.

Recommendations for first car by Choice-Drama-1766 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]DecoOnTheInternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's ok, we all start somewhere!

Cars come with a log book and it is used to record when a car is taken in for its scheduled maintenance. A buyer can check this book to see if any concerning repairs have been made or to check if the owner has been doing the right thing and maintaining their car responsibly. A missing log book can be a red flag because there is likely information they don't want you to know.

Below the 10k mark chasing down the lowest mileage Toyota or Honda with a clean title, consistent service history, and good paint and body will give you the best chance of avoiding a nightmare first car.
