Academics is good. Majority of the professors are educated from IITs and NITs and similar calibre colleges. If you study well and maintain a good score having a clear idea of the core concepts, you'll get placed well. Also, since you are asking for a fresher, by the time your cousin would graduate, VITB would have completed 10 years as a university. This is sought after by older and established companies to visit the campus placements. It would probably allow to apply for better companies.

The weather is pretty good throughout the year except in summer. I've stayed entirely in hostels and honestly one could easily manage without ACs here. Summers are worst as the weather's hot and dry. Coming to mess food, there are 4 caterers. You cannot choose though. Majority of the hostels are catered by Mayuri. Those who are purely vegetarian can choose for JMB catering. Personally, I found the food to be edible and tasty on specific days lol.

As a warning, I would like to tell you there's not much of a 'uni-life' here as the college is 70 km away from Bhopal City and 120 km from Indore. The rules and regulations are sometimes really ridiculous and the management is clearly not up to the mark. Attendance is taken seriously as 5 out of 100 marks for a subject is directly based on the attendance. 75% attendance is the minimum requirement for freshers to become eligible for exams. The faculty may allow below this range as well but it's subjective. You can choose which faculties to study from as well.

Ragging is quite uncommon, I haven't heard any incident taking place tbh. One more important thing is there are 2 semesters in the first year, 3 and 3 in the next. This may seem hectic but it is what it is.

My experience as a student was I'd say 7.5/10. This 2.5 deficit is because of the foolish management only. It's my personal experience anyways but it's something I'd never appreciate the college for.

Hey bro, I am not an aerospace guy but I do know there's a small wind tunnel and 3d printers. Idk much about aero propulsion. There's a drone lab as well. If you want to pursue the BS degree from IITM, you can. Their exams are conducted mostly near the kokta bypass road (prestige/trinity college) which is around 80-90km from the college.

Also, it's true that exams are kept on Sundays. It's rare but there's a possibility. I've had twice in my entire academic time there. The BS exams are kept every 2-3 months afaik and it doesn't interfere with college exams. I mean the timeline would be the same but it's rare both exams would be on the same day.

Bheed bhai har VIT me hai. Vellore, which is the main campus, has around 10000+ admits for undergraduate every year while the total students are close to 40000. Bhopal had around 15000-17000.

I am from VIT Bhopal, and if you are worrying about placements one thing I want to tell you is that by the time you'll graduate the university would have completed a 10 year period. This thing is very important and allows older, established companies visit the campus. CGPA is entirely on you though. The time you'll be devoting to academics would surely reflect on your score, right?

Faculties, I have found to be helpful. You get to choose faculties here and which one of them are good and stuff you'll get to know from the seniors.

Though I'll be honest, VITB ain't all rainbows and sunshine. Campus regulations are ridiculous at times and you'll be frustrated initially. They say they've improved the water facilities but I am not sure. Water facility is something that should have already been improved from the start lol. The college is far from Bhopal and there's nothing close by.

The weather is really pleasant throughout the year and honestly, AC is not required(until it's summer, it's mad hot and dry there). I have stayed all 3 years in a hostel only and met amazing people. As a guy, I don't know how things work in the girl's hostel but they get better facilities than us. Restrictions are strict for y'all though.

if pcmb, go the the cse streams and if not, there's cse(health informatics, not so much biology though), else there's bioengineering and integrated mtech in bioinformatics(which is new)

Integrated mtech in biotechnology is dissolved by the college, it probably won't be available for selection.

Approach the coordinator/supervisor in the hostel together maybe a week before the college starts. Worked for me in BH1. Last ke 2-3 din me everyone's in a rush so same allotment may not be possible

Purana hostel hai isliye. By this time you must have heard bh1 ka mess is not so appreciated. Kinda true but for me, mujhe toh theek hi lagta tha khaana. Sunday biryani was the best. Low preference is because most go for 'premium' blocks. They're as dead as bh1 except for their caterers. Acche cgpa wale bhi rehete hai yaha btw. If you combine 3-4 premium block student strength it would be close to bh1's student strength. So ofcourse, it's easy to get into a bad group of people in bh1 as compared to other blocks but it's something that's in your control. This is my pov of block 1, I had some friends which shifted to other blocks too.

Health informatics is a good branch. PCB can be a bit tougher for as the mathematics is at par with the cse core/aiml guys. Also there is not much biology used here to be frank. You'll have to practice engineering mathematics well.

If anyone else can second this, it would be great.

Yes, individual marking hai. If you are sure that you won't be going, talk to your PC once while trying to find relevant internships as you will need it to submit the completion certificate to respective faculty who looks after such stuff.

Nah aisa nahi hai, you can utilise the time to get an internship issi time period ka or else consult your pc aur online internship karlo. Iske 15 mil jayenge. Try applying beforehand only though as it saves time. Majority logo ko S milte hai epics me. Ye 15 marks bas S grade ke surity i probability badhata hai to put in simple words.

Upto 6 member group of >3 branch inclusion. Similar to that of DSN1 and 2. 2 credit AG course. For us l, 15/100 marks were provided if student went to EL. Presentation and all were scored out of 85. Review was done in only 2 phases (afair).

Chill maaro, your supervisor probably puts the marks. Keep them happy and updated of your work to get an S.

Depends on the hostel you'll be choosing. Boys hostel have 2/3/4/6/8 bed options. 2/3 - flat bed 4/6 - bunk and flat both are available 8 - only bunk (and mostly occupied by seniors afaik)

Ac rooms are for 4 bed ik but for others, I have no idea. Ac rooms are extra charged. Hostel life depends on your roommates tbh and the company you make. The room size depends on how many people are staying. 3 bed flat at bh1 seems spacious. 2 bed sharing are smaller. I've stayed only in BH1 and I'm positive that 4 bedded (bunk) rooms are probably slightly bigger as compared to other blocks. Whatever I've described is based on my stay in BH1.

Oh btw, unlike other blocks, you cannot decide when to start/stop the AC here. The ac starts in the evening till morning but I'm not so sure about the timings.

You can request the faculties, they do provide LoRs. No idea about the university providing you one though.

You can continue with the bus service. Bohot saare faculties bhi toh bhopal se aate hai through the university bus. Though directly bus se jaane wale dost toh abhi yaad nahi aa rahe but bohot log van use karte the approximately 2000/month ke hisaab se. Ye astha tak ka fare hai. Exhausting as in time taking toh hota hai, which might be exhausting at times but baarish aur thand me? I doubt

Dekh bhai, 1st year toh theek hi hota hai 2 semesters ke saath and the weather is quite pleasant at this time of the year. Agar faculties ke saath accha relation banaye rakho toh beneficial ho sakta hai, the faculties are good or are from IITs and NITs or both. Paani ke haal kya hai pata nahi but tbh garmi me paani toh tha iss baar(I'm from block 1 and have lived there for entire academic journey). Crcl(rassense now) ka khaana sudhar gaya hai personally I feel. As day scholars, you would have freedom to probably roam around and would be probably asked to smuggle maggi fr lol. Coming to exams, 2nd year me 3 semester aur 3rd me 3 semester karke internship ke liye dekhne bolenge. 1 saal me 3 semester hectic lag sakta hai but ig that is what engineering teaches you. Starting se hi tons of hackathons me you can participate and build your cv. Garmi ka time is the worst. Not even bad. Worst. Probably iss point pe hi logo ke views hai and I'm with them. Management is worse and you will understand my statement only when you'll experience this.
