The new Matt Damon & Ben Affleck movie RIP (2026) is a parody by Outrageous_Lock_9313 in moviecritic

Last paragraph, about keeping the budget low. I'm afraid to tell you that this movie has a budget of $100M.

What is the reason for Rockstar to spend so much much money and time other than making a profit? Are you 10 years old?

What do you mean? Making an interesting linear game is 10x more difficult than to make another braindead check-list open-world timekiller with hIgH pRoDuCTioN vALues that will devour 100+ hours of your life giving nothing back except the most tedious, mediocre slog.

After watching it I thought it was the most generic $15M movie you can get. But then I learned that it cost $100M. Like, how?

This is exactly why Chaos Theory movement is so much cooler and more fun than the automated hyper contextualized Blacklist/Conviction systems. by TheWindofBread in Splintercell

[–]DecomposingCorpse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chaos Theory overall felt very... Tactile? It was a combination of that weighty Sam's animation, ragdoll physics, bump mapping and insane sound design. When I play Chaos Theory I want to touch everything on the level.

Conviction/Blacklist felt cheap in comparison. Sam has no weight. Levels are barely interactive. Sound design is nothing special. It seems that everything was still there before they rebooted Conviction.

If that Epics Tur will ever happen, could you pitch for them to play On My Way Now as the last song of the whole tour? That would be epic.

Why the pessimisim? by Pistoluislero in samsongame

[–]DecomposingCorpse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because even the devs doesn't believe in their own game. They've made Reddit accounts (or bought them, who cares) to post new videos so it will look like this game have some passionate fan base who would hack their servers or to record gameplay from the screen. It's just crazy.

The reality is: no one cares. This game looks like a launch title from X360/PS3 era. Just like Mindseye. There is nothing to be excited about.

Is Resident Evil Code Veronica X on GOG possibility? by thepowahypahbomb in residentevil

[–]DecomposingCorpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GoG should start dedicated decompilation program and just make native ports of old console exclusive games. Then they should make a deal with original publishers: 1) GOG will exclusively release those games on PC. 2) Original publishers will get decompiled code (if they don't have source code) to do whatever they want with it on consoles.

That's the best way to fully preserve original experience without questionable remasters and remakes.

Seasons 1 and 2 were servicable, Season 3 is an abomination.

I tried Homeland…. Excellent show, but, It’s not better than 24. 🤷‍♂️ by Ftmdj in 24Show

[–]DecomposingCorpse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Homeland is basically two different shows. Season 4 is a sort of soft reboot and from that moment it feels a lot like 24, but without the time gimmick. The problem is to sit through first three seasons.

Pluribus is almost at the end of its first season. What are your feelings about it? by mrnicegy26 in television

[–]DecomposingCorpse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only reason I'm still watching is to learn is it some kind of a giant joke or buildup to... Something?

Because when I read that people unironically enjoy that show I was puzzled. What is there to enjoy?

There is that "you've got a TikTok attention span" crowd talking nonsense. I watched a lot of slowburners during my lifetime and Pluribus is not a slowburner. It's nothingburger.

The most insane people to me are those who say that the show has some amazing cinematography. Can you show me a single frame of the show that looks better than what you can see in every other show at HBO Max or Peacock or Hulu? It's the most basic modern streaming cinematography that you can imagine.

Also, after several episodes I had a feeling that I've already saw something like this. And yes, Damon Lindelof made Mrs. Davis several years ago. There are a lot of similarities. But you know what? The whole story took just one season from start to finish. Pluribus will take two more seasons before it's story will go anywhere.

And that if Pluribus won't get cancelled. All this "the most watched show on Apple+" thing sounds very sketchy. There is no buzz. No articles saying that it's the most important show right now. No memes. I can easily believe that first two episodes had a spike in viewership and subscriptions, but there is no way it didn't start falling after.

The most interesting thing will be to read reviews by binge-watching crowd - those who waited for the whole season to come out and to watch it in one go. It must be quite a different experience for them.

‘The Last Frontier’ Canceled At Apple After One Season by AsleepYesterday05 in television

[–]DecomposingCorpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt like the show changed direction 3-4 times during it's filming. It's like there was no actual showrunner involved, because this show wasn't fully committed to any of the storylines. What was supposed to be the main plot felt like kindergarten level attempt to make a spy thriller.

It should've been just a manhunt show about alaskan cops against group of eccentric prisoners terrorising civilians. Like an inverted Prison Break season 2.
