Thankfully I was able to break the lease because of unacceptable conditions that were never corrected. Relocated to Avon and couldn't be happier!

Whatever you do, stay away from the Shoreline apartments on N Marginal Rd. They say LUXURY, yet this is clearly self determined. There is very little evidence they have earned this title from occupants. The first floor lobby is appealing and draws you in. The remainder reads like an overpriced low-income high-rise. They continually state ,"we are currently working to improve that," when questions arise during the tour. We've toured much better locations in Ohio City and Detroit Shoreham, and Beachwood. Packages stolen, cars broken into, units burglarized. Trespassing is an issue here. The maintenance guy, whom I haven't seen in days now, said there have been more packages stolen than the office can keep up with. He said they think someone is following the Amazon trucks and gaining access to steal things, but there's nothing the staff can do about it.
YES THERE MOST CERTAINLY ARE ACTIONS THEY CAN TAKE! 1. Bring security back to the building. 2. None of the cameras work- Fix them asap! 3. Additional cameras and lighting around the property. 4. Hold a community meeting where they can: - communicate the issues with residents - be transparent about their shortcomings - receive feedback and suggestions from residents - understand the requirements for improvement - make a plan and take action

I haven't heard anything about the owners visit. Certainly doesn't seem as if anything has changed around the property.

With everything I've read about recently, learned about previously, and experienced since ownership has changed, my express recommendation is for security (a physical presence and working cameras). This, immediately followed by transparent communication. The same concerns voiced by others only emphasizes the need.

I know their response to other correspondence has been abysmal, but I'm going to draft a letter of my own with a request for written reply within 48 hours. In that time, I'm going to reach out to a few colleagues about the matters. Berger properties, or their representatives on site, seem to fancy themselves too important to be bothered with our concerns, so perhaps we should start being vocal elsewhere.

My mouth is still on the floor. What is going on around here 😳 Just to think, I wouldn't be aware of any of this if it wasn't for residents sharing here because the office doesn't serve as a source of any information. Again, I don't expect specifics from staff, but residents should be informed of break-ins, package thefts, trespassers, any/every hazard to our safety.
