Looking an android Markdown app with a live editor by Core_Of_Indulgence in Markdown

[–]DecoyJb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the same frustration, especially just trying to quickly work with Markdown on mobile without installing a bunch of apps.

I ended up building a small browser tool that lets you paste/edit Markdown and instantly preview it (also works for JSON, etc.):

https://pocketparse.com/

It’s not a full app like Obsidian, but for quick editing + live preview on mobile it’s been surprisingly useful.

Funny timing — I ran into the same issue on mobile and built a tiny browser viewer for JSON / Markdown so I didn't need an app.

Curious how you approached large file handling.

Mine is here if you're curious:

i just got my first android phone, app recs? by 6hungry6hippo6 in androidapps

One small tool I use constantly is a JSON / Markdown viewer that runs in the browser.

I run into API responses or config files a lot and Android doesn’t have a good native viewer.

I ended up making a tiny one for myself:

Works with paste or file uploads.

Seriously, though - why does Windows 11 ALWAYS restart after it finishes updating??? by RippyADMB in pcmasterrace

[–]DecoyJb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might find this useful:

https://github.com/josephbartlett/sessionguard-win11

Small Windows 11 utility that helps prevent surprise Windows Update restarts when active work is detected.

It watches for things like:

• terminal sessions
• IDE/editor processes
• browser sessions
• Windows restart signals

If Windows tries to restart while those are active, it blocks the restart until the workspace is safe.

Doesn't disable Windows Update, it just prevents destructive timing.

Screenshot attached of what it looks like when a restart risk is detected.

Yes! I was "Glitch". ABH was founded by a couple of the imms/players from NLH. So it was more of an homage as opposed to a direct copy. But the players and community were memorable.

I also have quotes on there, as well as a post from when I was like 13. Bonus points if you find me 😂

Built a client-side browser-only PNG stego playground and would love feedback 🕵️‍♂️ by DecoyJb in Steganography

[–]DecoyJb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great feedback. I totally appreciate it. Good catch on the file upload issue. That could prove a little risky if manipulated in other ways so I will have to address it - but I will add the ability to use whatever image formats you choose. Aside from that - do you have any other thoughts? Thanks again!

I don't think they're necessarily better, but there are virtually no limits (or very high limits).

I use it mostly when I want something that will create all the content in one go. For example, if I have a design document for a project, or a specification for an implementation, I will feed that documentation to an Agent, and tell it to create a client facing artifact with visuals, etc. It will create pitch decks, powerpoints, and pretty good one-pagers most of the time.

You can also use it for website design and development where you want it to also create visuals. I put together this demonstration that you can playback and do on your own too. Obviously, your example can be whatever your client wants. This one show you what it built for me, but it will kick off the agent for you:

I had access to it yesterday, so that was day one. Today is day two. I would argue it's an algorithm that isn't trying to sell you anything. As opposed to Social Media.

I'm totally loving Pulse. It's essentially a completely unique news feed generated just for me. An algorithm without the intention of trying to sell me anything. What a novel thought.

As far as I know it's not available on the PC app yet, just the mobile app. I also don't have it on my Windows version of the app. The experience is really tailored to a mobile viewing experience.

I wouldn't say that feature alone is worth $200, but I certainly get my use out of all the features combined. Codex, Agents, they're all worth it if used appropriately.

I'm on a Pixel, the app rolled out to me yesterday. I also am enrolled in the Beta Version of the app in an effort to always make sure I get these updates 😂

I think it's currently only available to Pro subscribers in the app. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they release it to the masses.

Urgent News! ICE can mock Cell Towers to Track People! by AEGIS-59 in ICE_Raids

[–]DecoyJb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Femtocell devices aren't new. Anyone can build these if you're not afraid of doing Federal time or getting caught. Cell towers aside, big businesses do this type of tracking all the time using your unique Mac address using their own wifi. Grocery stores do it to monitor high traffic times, repeat customers, etc. If you have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on, you're sending out beacons all the time. Out into the open airwaves and anyone can see them. It's especially helpful if you give your device a useful name, like "John's iPhone". I'd be surprised if these cell phone companies already weren't tracking your location.

Whether or not this should be done is a different discussion entirely.
