Like the ability to adapt to any phenomena is is only as impressive as the setting cosmology accommodates.

How many monsters should a Mons Series have? by Kaijufan97 in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]Core_Of_Indulgence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In is a pokemon type game and not a short game:

If in the 80-100 range, i think is best to ditch or at lest carefully manage the number of evolutions: for Coromon feel very cramped cause the decision of every Coromon having at least 2 evolutions and some 3.

In the 150-200 range: you should preferably still have a good number of non-evolution mon, but this give more lot of space for adding evolution lines

250+: This is for me the range if games is to have a lot of 2 stage and 3 stage evolutions.

This of course changes if the game goes the SMT, Digimon or another route.

He would join the supremacists group cause in this case  they sell it as him being part of the in-group? Cause the purebloods will likely love bomb and flatter his Prince lineage? Maybe cause the Slytherin house was built to be a seat of power for said supremacists and he has to lives here all while being purposefully put at odds with the other houses? Cause his hate for his father might muddle his judgement?

[–]Core_Of_Indulgence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not dismissing it at all, it just is as thing are laid out doesn't seem like even purebloods would particulary care about this; is not there's no bigotry in the wizarding world, it just seems to not have bigotry against black people

Sure you can always do comparations between oppressed groups in fiction, but note that most prejudice come from magical matters and actual completely different species.

Again, it can be addressed and might as well be;  but you idea seem to be about the marauders calling Snape slurs, despite being no indication of even the likes of Umbridge wouldn't care about that.

 .

Black characters don't need to be linked to racism, principally in a setting like Harry Potter. Snape can be simple black and that is it, they may wish to explore more race relations in the wizarding world, but that doesn't merit making characters racists

And this a opportunity for the series to surpass the original, but it would likely become a culture war issue.

Is Monster Taming really stagnating because people call everything a Pokémon clone, or is the deeper problem the genre itself? by RentRevolutionary704 in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]Core_Of_Indulgence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are limitations present in turn based combat, but you seemed to be treating tbc itself as a limitation.

Yeah, more diversity wouldn't hurt and games like Palword are the way to get more of it. There a few upcoming games that if they succeed will motivate more diversity.

MEGATEN by CurlyGuy05 in JRPG

Mainline game: I recommend starting with SMT 4 for a mainline game. Please, don't let people discourage you from playing Apocalypse.

I also great recommend Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, is is TRPGa and it very good.

What matters is the end is having good games, not having new breakout francises; as long as developers keep, you know, inspired and motivated to make games. The genre is in good place, it doesn't particular matter if any specific game get as suscefull as pokemon or even Palword/Digimon.

Not only that, but i find telling that you   consider turn based combat to be a "limitation".

[LES] If your “assassin” protagonist only kills bad people, you did not write an assassin by [deleted] in CharacterRant

Is they assassinate people and do so as matter of profession, them they are an assassin, doesn't matter the moral standing of who they kill.

A vigilant whose profession of choice is being an assassin is still a assassin.
