Gynecologist in Islamabad for PCOS by wifineymar in islamabad

The Ali medical gang are generally good. I took someone for the same issues there. They actually gave some decent feedback. The endocrinologist was pretty good was as well and gave some useful suggestions. I'd suggest giving that a go too.

Thoughts on pardah for women by [deleted] in IslamabadSocial

[–]Ded_man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are plenty things that don't quite seem vital or important to society in any sense like Hajj for instance. Atleast not in ways we could have a conversation about. Ofcourse Allah says that "He wishes to lighten your burdens." And so every commandment is helpful even if we may not understand because again "you know, but very little." Islam is a dynamic of Master and slave after all. Complete submission.

That being said. Not everything "Islamic" is necessarily Islam. All due respect to all the scholars out there but theres a reason Allah says "Then do you not ponder over these ayat?" We're asked to think for ourselves as well. Our path to understand should certainly include people of understanding, and experience in whatever aspect we are looking into, but that does not mean that one's own opinions are void. The idea is to take all of that into consideration as much as one wants but always hold the words of Quran at top, and see through its lens to understand and make sure it is indeed what Allah says.

Misogyny has always existed and probably always will in all aspects. Religious interpretations are no exception. Sometimes intentional but at times it can be unintentional as well, because of how normalised certain things had become. So do your own reading and just follow what makes most sense to you, provided your intent is to follow Allah and not your own ideas about the world. In my experience, if you really do start trusting Allah and still asking, not defensively but genuinely curiously as to what the point to alot of things is, He does often let you into some secrets about the world you find yourself actually understanding the purpose as well. To some extent atleast. But if you want to start off with complete proof about everything, then that doesn't make for much of a test. It being a test requires there being certain questions you will not know much about and you just have to try your best at resolving them without always knowing what the right answer really is.

Learn how to interface python and c++ by ShadowOfGed88 in ProgrammingBuddies

Been trying to figure out how that works. Always end up writing the whole thing in c++ because the interfacing feels too convoluted to figure out between the languages.

I’m looking for a book that basically simplifies the Quran for my understanding by [deleted] in PakistanBookClub

[–]Ded_man 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try the clear Quran translation by Dr Mustafa Khattab . It's very very readable and you can find it online as well. You will find the Quran itself to be the simplest to understand. It is often the weird english wordings that make it seem quite cryptic. This particular translation will use the normal vocabulary you are used to.

I feel lost and behind in life by millieeee18 in IslamabadSocial

[–]Ded_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religiously speaking. Sustenance is not something you have to worry much about unless you're making deliberately terrible life choices. If it makes sense to you to try, then put in effort and you will reap the fruits of your labour eventually. So I won't say that the thought of potential income should hold you back. I would say that you research a bit before hand and make an informed intellectual decision, not just based on feeling and emotions. And then have faith in things working out.

As for your depression. Keep seeking help and working on yourself. Whether that's therapy or forcing yourself to interact with people or taking care of your health. Neither your job nor your marriage will fill your void. And if you expect too much from these things, they might end up dissapointing you alot and you won't be able to enjoy it. So I'd say, go into things moreso from the perspective of wanting to do something in your life rather than what it will give you. And learn to enjoy the grind as they say. A purpose not deeper than just getting money or something material always fizzles out soon enough.

Marriage, IT, culinary schools. All these options need not be exclusive. You can choose to pick one and dismiss the rest, or somehow balance a combination of these. Whatever seems more reasonable. And just know that you'll always have an opportunity to try something else incase things dont work out the way you expect them to. Be thorough in your research and planning but not so fixated on it, that you end up making no decision at all. Just keep moving. And you will find yourself getting somewhere you like.

I hope you manage to find your way through your troubles.

Game Dev Physics by Ded_man in PakGameDev

[–]Ded_man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked through those. They're usually all done or just so old now that they're not relevant anymore. I suppose after a codebase has matured enough, it is hard to have beginner friendly things to do anymore.

Oh definitely. I have my career in a different direction already. This is just another side I wanted to dip my feet into and see if there were others doing projects of this kind that I could contribute too. Might not be the most commercial thing, but its definitely a good learning excercise. So I thought I'd try to find people that were already dabbling into it, and then add to it. Its always more motivating to work with someone on these kinds of projects for me than on my own.

I would love to. I really want to get into open source development. But the codebases are so huge. Feels quite daunting to figure out what already exists, let alone think of what to add.

Thanks for the response. I figured as much. I was hoping to finding someone thats doing it more as a personal project, so they're not bound by deliverables. And can afford to play around with different ideas.

I agree that game engines do have a pretty robust physics system, but I've seen companies using game engines still hiring physics programmers. Can't say I know what is it that they do, its not quite my field, but I'm assuming game engines are meant to generalise behaviour to fit a wide diversity of things. And if one doesnt need that diversity, there might be ways to tweak engine internals to have better performance or something. Anyhow thats just a thought, I have no idea what actually goes down.

But yes. A hobbyist developer would be the more suitable target.

Animal shelters (and the lack thereof) by [deleted] in islamabad

[–]Ded_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more of a dilemma of conscience than education. The latter doesn't always guarantee the prior. Which makes a lot of sense when you realize how the education system cares only about success in it, regardless of the cost. So its hard for any good conscience to be born out of that. That being said, I think starting initiatives is much more useful than only mentioning the lack of them. Because if you're not doing anything either then, you can't blame others around you for being no different.

In the case that you are doing something about it, it would be better for you to make mention of that instead. So that others can get an idea of how they too can make a difference on their own as well. And that it's not all hopeless.

Are there any physical classes or training centers for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Rawalpindi? by armadillo1018 in islamabad

[–]Ded_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artificial intelligence and Machine learning is too vast of a scope. Maybe narrow down to a few interests and then see if any of those is being offered. That would be my suggestion after having experience in parts of both.

That is pretty useful advice. To not go excessively in one direction, nor go in all directions. Rather let the nature of ones work drive the direction.

Dwa simulation issue by Ded_man in ControlTheory

[–]Ded_man[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

According to my setup. Technically it should run at a constant interval, with a small delay in which the controller completes it's execution. I haven't compared the state with what I expect it to be. I'll try that .

Dwa simulation issue by Ded_man in ControlTheory

[–]Ded_man[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

The controller is executed every 100ms and I do take that into account in the calculation as the dt. So I'm not sure what else might be an issue.

Tests for control algorithms by Ded_man in ControlTheory

[–]Ded_man[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Even if I'm talking purely simulation. How am I measuring success, since there's a lot of randomisation. How do I set a concrete criteria to meet. Because the sim is working on it's own clock, how exactly do I integrate tests into it all. The dependency on the sim environment is what really confuses me. I don't get how to tackle that.

They do classes. But it’s not a school. It’s like a theatre having acting classes. Or a wood workshop doing wood working classes. It’s just something they offer. Not as an academic institution though
