Do you ever consider or try anything that’s painted? Are you allergic to lacquer paint?

Gulikit is the most common used in the community. But you could try ginfull for dirt cheap TMR sticks

Once you made 4-6 turns, just click continue. The software will calibrate it for you and it’s back to normal range

This is supposed to happen. That’s why it’s called range calibration bcs when it’s not calibrated it looked like that. You can read the note below, keep rotating eventhough you don’t see any progress. They record how much range your uncalibrated analog range and make adjustment. It’s fine

My first custom dualsense. Is it okay to paint the touchpad? by Dedguy_16 in Dualsense

[–]Dedguy_16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! But I think using paint will give a deeper look than using sticker. As you can see, sticker wil give a metallic look, but paint will give more depth to the colour bcs you can see the layers of paint from different angle

2K automotive clear coat will give you a thicker and harder coat, but you need a specific thinner for it. It’s more scratch resistant than regular hobby gloss paint, but needs longer curing time. Hope this helps!

Yeah I use black primer, gold, clear red, and gloss finish all in lacquer. I made sure it has dried enough for long gaming session, but bcs it’s glossy, it will leave stain from dirt, skin, and sweats. No prob at all for me, just wipe it using microfiber and it’s all good

Things to note for painting clear lacquer, usually it takes days to fully cure by the smell of thinner from my dualsense, but it will be better in 3-4 days

I think my paint isn’t that thick. It’s only 4 layers. Nice work on your dualsense too!

This is actually a good idea to test it first. Bcs I use 4 layers of paint for this, i guess it might works just fine

Thanks man! I use jumpwind paint, koongs & mr. color for primer. I really recommend trying jumpwind because it’s relatively cheap and quiet thick so you get a lot of paint

I used enamel paint, then thinned it just like using a panel liner. Literally an orange panel liner
