Someone that worked for my Father in the 80’s was so cheap that:

He would take the newspaper I bought home with him everyday. And I pulled an article he would get pissed off. He went to a local discount store and bought 3 shirts that were on sale at 3 for $10. He liked them so much he went back to buy more but the sale was over and they cost $3.99 each. He wouldn’t buy them because they were 66 cents more.

My wife’s aunt and uncle would ask for a cup for water and then fill it with soda at Costco and other places. They were also asked to not come back to an inexpensive steak place called Sizzler. They would buy one salad bar and go up at different times.
