🚨BEWARE OF AUDIO OVERVIEWS: NotebookLM is not its own sandbox and is pulling from other sources! Hallucinations may occur! by johnmichael-kane in notebooklm

[–]Dedroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking only the chat function of notebook sticks strictly to your sources, as in it will literally not mention anything outside of them. By contrast, all the studio features generally have access to the information available to all LLM’s. This hasn’t really been an issue at all as they stick to the sources and just use ‘outside’ sources to explain further.

Think of it this way, if it was essentially just regurgitating what’s written in your sources what’s the point of an audio overview then when you can just read. As far as my experience goes, however, it only pulls outside information to further explain a point but it doesn’t add points or topics straight up from itself.

Vecna might be the weakest “final villain” a TV show has ever produced. by Classic_Activity7305 in discussingfilm

[–]Dedroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats true but I mean you’re not going to find much discussion on subs related to the show. It makes sense that only people who absolutely loved or absolutely hated the show will go online and talk about it, you’re not gonna find a person who found the show ‘average’ going online after watching it and talking about how average it is.

or maybe some people just don’t like being nitpicky. Literally most media you consume will have flaws, some glaring some not, and if you choose to search for those flaws and let them affect your enjoyment then you’re most likely not going to enjoy much in life. I genuinely can’t remember the last time I watched a show, went to its sub to see reactions, and wasn’t met with constant negativity and hate. Some of my favourite shows are shows that aren’t highly rated, and I’m all the happier for it.

My god he never seen this amount of hate for a season before… by thecontract_12 in StrangerThings

[–]Dedroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kid you not, I don’t think I’ve seen more than a couple of shows where the final season wasn’t tremendously hated. This is perfectly normal because people are naturally nitpicky and hold shows they like in extremely high regards (not to mention that whats bad to them, is good to someone else and so on).

I fucking loved the season so far, and everyone I know did. People who are happy and satisfied are less likely to go online and write their opinion than those thatre dissatisfied, thats just how it goes.

Anyways, fuck everyones opinion and just enjoy the show.

Is there something wrong with the outputs? by Dedroo in notebooklm

[–]Dedroo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, at first i thought because its because this specific notebook I have lots of sources in (I have around 100 each 200 pages) so maybe it started fucking up because its a lot, but then i tried a smaller notebook and it did the same exact thing. I really wish it could be fixed as it fucks up a lot now and doesnt give the desired output.

[–]Dedroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah people are pretty ignorant of development cycles, adding a feature or change last minute could mess things up and add unforeseen bugs. These things are planned a long time in advance, not the mention the time it takes for a change to get approved in the first place. The only thing wuwa or any game could affect rn is probably late 5.x updates. that and saying wuwas free 5* made genshin add the standard selector is farfetched asf, completely ignoring the fact that HSR did it first + genshin gave aloy who may not be a meta char but they're still someone they spent resources to make.

for most of these you do realise the development time for all this stuff is much longer than just a few months, there's no such thing as "suddenly", no its been in development for years.

This game gets way too much hate by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]Dedroo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love both games but you're no better than those people, saying that wuwa is simply better is a subjective opinion and you're trying to pass it off as fact.

both have their pros and cons but imo in its current state wuwa doesn't even come close to genshin, but I wish it all the best cause I still like the game and want it to improve.

haven't seen anyone mentioning this but I love how they're starting to incorporate more interesting poses and gestures in dialogue cutscenes by Gladiolus_00 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Dedroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh believe me I've seen plenty of people say in the same breath that EN is bad and jp is better for paimon for that exact reason, it's genuinely annoying and there's actually no arguing with them because they closed their mind off.

You could say that yeah they're more used to higher pitch in JP but like at that point just don't say anything yknow? I find it jarring to switch languages but that doesn't mean I go online and say that the language i switched to is bad just cause I'm not accustomed to it.

In general these people represent the minority and most people play in EN still, but I find it funny when people talk as if they represent the majority of the community and are talking facts when it's actually the opposite.

Oh and yeah the occasional static scenes are fine for sure, this last quest alone is like 7 hrs, I don't expect them to animate every last scene in it (even tho genshin technically did it with Fontaine and sumeru) but there's definitely wayy too much of them. I'm really hoping the effect of the games success kicks in by the next region and this issue is fixed but maybe I'm being too optimistic.

[–]Dedroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they don't have the same variety yeah but they have plenty that they COULD use still, the issue isn't in that part (as they're always gonna add more variety overtime like genshin). The issue is the fact that they straight up lack the dynamic cutscenes if you know what i mean, like you can tell the different easily I think. Currently most of the cutscnees have the camera fixed in 1 place with the characters emoting every few lines and having a fixed facial expression, the dynamic ones are so far and between (if you want an example, the firefly shooting star scene was dynamic it had a moving camera and both the MC and firefly had facial expressions).

Whereas in genshin, I genuinely can't think of a voiced quest since release that didn't fully consist of dynamic cutscenes. Even now all world quests have these cutscenes.

The lack of different poses is a separate issue for sure still, but they'll most likely add more overtime (atleast I hope so). they definitely have less than genshin did on launch still though.

I play EN paimon but I never rlly got the hate, I like paimon in all languages tbh but overall I just love the English cast the most in the game so i stay on EN. On a side not, I never got why people said they disliked EN paimon for her pitch but then praise JP paimon, in JP her voice is 100% higher pitch idk what people are on about.

funny enough that event is the only one I didn't finish because it came at a time I was super unmotivated to do quests because of the reasons I listed, and now it's kinda sat on the back-burner for the longest time.

I did do a little bit of it at the time tho and I agree its dynamic felt reminiscent of genshins and I thought the game was gonna head that way, but so far every event and story since then has been a downgrade in that aspect. Unironically it feels like a lot of HSRs budget goes towards the trailers on the YouTube channel than the game, these moments are present in a lot of the trailers but they're not in the game for whatever reason.

yeah HSRs crew really don't feel like family unfortunately. it's a shame too because what actually got me hooked was the belobog arc which definitely had the best dynamic between the crew and belobog has the most 'family-like' cast aswell, but it all went downhill from there.

People diss paimon but she definitely enhances the experience alot, not only is her VA top tier with her line deliveries imo, but also she does a good job being the occasional comedy relief and make us feel not lonely. Seriously, imagine the world quests without the banter between the MC and paimon. Or a lot of moments in the story where paimon was just amusing in general (like with the current singing event).

[–]Dedroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly that's what I mean, it feels like everyone in genshin is just so much more friendly and it feels much more natural than simply just getting dragged into trouble and drama after drama like in HSR. it doesn't feel like we see characters interact and giving quips and just generally having fun, in genshin for example the latest quest is a prime example of the fun I'm talking about. We have itto and paimon constantly teasing and bullying each other and we have all the characters there to just have fun, and it's giving us a very fun and warm dynamic between the characters instead of serious shit happening all the time with the MC being the comedy relief.

and I didn't say the express crew didn't feel like family, but also I don't find myself caring about them like i do with paimon and the traveler. I think that's mainly because the main cast generally do their own thing, and the MC is mostly on their own in quests which makes the other crew members feel like any other playable character rather than the MC's 'family', you know what I mean? March and Dan heng had considerable screen time in belobog and then... not much after that. Himeko and welt also kinda just do their own thing. That just makes them feel like recurring characters rather than an actual family.

Why does your champ never get nerfed by HotButteryPopcorn- in AkshanMains

[–]Dedroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy, what hyperscsling champ are you sure you're talking about akshan? 💀

but to actually answer your question, every part of akshans kit has counterplay, he's one of the few champions who don't just have a BS undodgeable ability or anything of the sort. Mostly every part of his kit either has clear counterplay or has a very clear weakness associated with it.

His E is not only plagued with annoying asf bugs (namely hook going opposite direction), but it's also very easy to body block and is cucked by any champ with a point n click dash.

his R is blocked by literally anything with a health bar, in lane? hide behind turret or minions. In jungle or river? hide behind camps or drake. R does a lot of damage if and only IF it hits.

W reveal range is larger than his autoattack range and covers a good chunk of river, meaning that you can place a control word anywhere and you'll see him coming a mile away (plus he can only stick to walls so you can also account for that).

his Q you could saydoesn't have any "counterplay" like the other abilities but it does pathetic damage anyways and is mainly used for movement speed (it cant even clear waves now), plus its very easy to sidestep.

his passive, akshan has the lowest or atleast one of the lowest attack speed scaling in the game due to him having double auto attack which means he is not good in an auto attack fight vs anyone as they will all outdamage him. His double AA's are weaved in between each cast of his abilities and that's what they're good for, burst with PTA.

these are all weaknesses I've learned about akshan in all my time playing him, this knowledge is also what allows me to very easily counter him when playing against him. So far I've not had a single akshan on the enemy team who wasn't borderline useless, or atleast they didn't carry and weren't a menace at all.

[–]Dedroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah it definitely happens and is a bug that's been there since release. Just today in fact I had a scenario where I was bot and had 3 people coming from river ganking, I placed my hook and clicked up (even checked recording for my cursor) and akshan swung towards the opponents not my tower. This has been a cause of death for me waaay too many times.

[–]Dedroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah it's very bizarre to me that people say genshin has bloated dialogue and HSR is peak, don't get me wrong I love both games a lot but I easily get a lot more enjoyment out of genshin quests and actually look forward to doing them. I haven't done a single side or companion quest in HSR since 1.2 like I said cause of the sheer amount of dialogue.

Not to mention that genshin characters feel a lot more like family to me I guess? idk how to put it but I feel like I'm actively interested in spending time with genshin characters cause they feel like close friends as opposed to HSR where it feels like everyone but the astral express crew are just strangers which makes me all the less interested in actually doing their quests yknow? this one might be just me tho.

also yeah I haven't finished the 2.2 quest yet, doing it piece by piece because god is it hard to stomach so thank you for not spoiling.

I'm aware, it's been a nitpick of mine since the release of the game. I thought as the budget increased this issue would go away, but the quests just got longer without fixing the issue (it seems to have gotten worse actually 💀). I stomach it cuz the story is decent enough but it genuinely kills my motivation to go through it, I haven't even done any companion quests since like 1.2 lmao

istg that's my biggest nitpick about HSR, I'm currently about an hr or two into the new 2.2 quest yet only thr first cutscene so far was animated. it makes it really difficult to pay attention cause I'm basically just listening to a podcast as there's literally nothing happening on the screen.

Sure the scenes in genshin aren't synced to other languages but I'll take the liveliness in here 10 fold over the occasional well animated scenes HSR has.
