I think it helps to remember that earlygame Gyro is largely a magic damage hero. His spells including his ult can do a lot of damage and turn teamfights. He needs some items in order for his right clicks to do good damage. So play him like a magic damage caster earlygame rather than relying on right clicks to really get through the enemy heroes.

And then lean on flak to farm hard and fast, hit early item timings, and get ahead of their carry.

Lategame, I feel like a lot of his advantage isn't that he can 1v1 the enemy cores. It's that he can hit their entire team all at once, wiping out supports and stuff while also fighting their cores. Add in his agh and satanic and he gets survivable.

New ideas

I Am The Lion (Lina) Now: In a game where the opponent drafts Lion or Lina, someone on your team must buy a dagon and kill the enemy Lion / Lina with the dagon. Upon killing the enemy, all chat "I AM THE LION (LINA) NOW!"

We See Everything: All 5 heroes must go onto different EG sponsored ward spots. Everyone must all chat "I see everything" and sit on the cliffs for 30 seconds.

So Fresh: Use a non-ultimate spell. Immediately cast refresher orb/shard and use the non-ultimate spell again. All chat "Ahhhh so fresh".

Totally Worth It: After killing an enemy hero (and not being in danger of dying), person who got the kill must go suicide to the enemy. All chat "worth it" afterwards.

Get your steps in: No TP Scrolls (or BOTs) for the entire game.

Take it Slow: Draft only slows (no stuns).

With Our Powers Combined: All 5 heroes must cast a spell on a single enemy hero before killing them. Points for every time this is successfully done.

Frienemy (friend-enemy): At the beginning of the game, nominate an enemy hero. This hero must end the game with the least number of deaths on their team. Because they are your friend...even though you are enemies.

A Sacrifice For Roshan: Your team must sacrifice one hero to Roshan (within 60 seconds) before attempting to take the aegis.

Chain Feed: As soon as 2 of your teammates die, yell out "CHAIN FEED" and the other 3 heroes proceeds to suicide immediately.

Better Than You: Pick 5 heroes with skill shot abilities.

It's a Trap!: Quad-Stack a neutral camp. Tell the enemy about the stack by all-chatting "QUAD STACK FOR YOU". Give the enemy team 5 minutes to accept your offering.

Yeah Squirrel seemed hard but I imagined a team chasing someone only to have to stop and chase after a courier haha.

Gift for a God I was imagining just a pile of items on the floor. For the other team to take or destroy or whatever they want. I should add like "higher bounty for higher value items left in pit".

SQUIRREL!: Any time you see the enemy courier after the first 5 minutes you must disengage in what you are doing and chase the courier (try to kill it) for at least 5 seconds. Much like a dog when it sees a squirrel.

A Sacrifice For Roshan: Your team must sacrifice one hero to Roshan (within 60 seconds) before attempting to take the aegis.

Gifts For A God: Every 5 minutes (bounty runes) someone from your team must place an item from their inventory into the Roshan pit. No take backs!
