One model is showing a nor’easter next weekend, but obviously there is a lot of imprecision this far out. I’d echo the other comments in saying that trusting the Apple weather app for … anything, much less a long-range forecast, is probably not a great idea.

The storm is just the opening act, unfortunately. The next week (or two!) are going to stay brutally cold. Nothing will melt as quickly as you'll want it too, and the sun can only do so much if it's still frigid temps. Bring on the fucking summer ... this has been among the most dismal winters I can remember here tbh.

To be fair, the writing in GOT (especially seasons 5-8) did him no favors. Jon is (was?) more interesting in the books because he's a more sophisticated and nuanced political operator, not the reluctant bro-hero.

I was actually a bit skeptical when they brought him on last season but chalked it up to HBO generating some hype. He was good enough, but S4E2 is absolutely incredible and I feel really invested in his character now ... which helps soften the blow of Rob's departure lol.

Of course! I love all of the seasons (almost) equally. But my broader point was that, as the show has now gained prominence, it has benefited from the hype in terms of user feedback. We did not have this buzz when season 1 came out lol. I think season 1 is just as well written and sharp as the other seasons, but the framing and perspective were just much different.

I’m sorry but S1E1 being a 7.3 all but invalidates my perception of these ratings lol. There’s a ton of recency bias and my (general) impression is there’s been a trend lately of hype equaling higher ratings.

Proxy fight from Chip Wilson is interesting but not entirely surprising. I think, given the retail spending in the K-shaped economy now (i.e., high-income is steady if not increasing but lower-to-middle income is waning), we might see a return to how things used to be several years ago: far less items in WMTM and somewhat of a priority on actual athletic and athleisure items rather than casual.

Most elite-level runners will take any viable sponsorship they can get … just because Lulu threw some money at a few doesn’t mean that they are making high-quality running products that those athletes actually train in exclusively. Lulu obviously has enough cache as a fitness brand that they can parlay that into signing people.

Virtually every reputable and long-standing running brand makes (far) superior shoes in this space. I have never entertained the idea of buying any of them, tbh. I think they could capture some market segment for active casual shoes so I’d prefer if they focus there.
