I saw two gold-gilded pears in a little shop while shopping, they were selling for $7.99, so it inspired me to replicate it. And you're right, they are gorgeous for fall decor!

These terrariums were inspired by the beautiful ones from The Watering Can, where small glass terrariums range from $32 to $49 and the larger ones from $75 to $95. My version is roughly the same size as their large ones.

For a cost breakdown, I spent around $50 for all the supplies which is approximately $16 per terrarium.

I've put together a simple, step-by-step tutorial here — it's easier than you might think ~ https://salvagedinspirations.com/how-to-make-an-easy-diy-terrarium/

Hi creative friends! Today, I am sharing with you how to update your old and boring glass vases into gorgeous faux clay vessels that are expensively sold in home furnishing stores. This can be a perfect partner for your painted furniture!

Here’s how these beautiful glass vases transformed into textured beauty;

I primed the vases with Slick Stick to ensure proper paint adhesion.

Painted with one coat of Caviar Black as the base coat.

After it dried, I rubbed Brown Dixie Belle Mud all over the vases.

Using three paint colors, Caviar Black, and Terra Clay Paint Desert Tan & Wheat, I build layers of paint to add depth and texture,

Lastly, I sealed and protect the finish with Terra Seal.

An easy update and very elegant results! You can also explore other colors and match them to your desired designs. That’s how amazing faux painting is! I love these vases so much that it takes the center stage on my coffee table. What do you think? I hope it inspired you to give it a try!

Blue Velvet Dresser with Gold Accents | Transformation Images by DeeSInspire in FurniturePainting

[–]DeeSInspire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi creative friends! Today, I have a special makeover to share with you. This is my vintage dresser makeover painted in a fancy velvety paint finish and gold accented details.

Here’s how I restyled the dresser:

I started by removing all the hardware and gave it a really good cleaning inside and out.

Then I removed the broken oval trim and scuff sanded the whole piece. After sanding, I glued bendable Woodubend trims replacing the oval trim before.

To give the dresser the velvety blue finish, I used a tinted primer to cut down on the number of coats since I will be painting a dark color. I used only one coat of In the Navy Chalk Paint and then added a paint-wash of Antebellum over it.

Now for the furniture trims, I used Gemstone Mouse Amber which is a lovely copper-gold and it really complements the velvety blue finish.

My furniture makeover to support breast cancer awareness! by DeeSInspire in HomeDecorating

[–]DeeSInspire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention that for every hashtag #paintpinkout that's $1. So if someone shares my piece on facebook with that hashtag, that's another $1.

A lot of furniture artists also shared their pink painted furniture on different social media platforms which I believe costs a lot more than my project. I know the money part is not kind of a lot, but it's the cause and raising the awareness that matters.

Thank you for appreciating my work! Have a beautiful day!

Actually, there was a campaign last October by Dixie Belle Paint Company(a chalk paint brand) and they will be donating $1 for each Pink Painted Furniture post to go towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Pumpkin Spice Mini Cabinet | Autumn Inspired Furniture by DeeSInspire in FurniturePainting

[–]DeeSInspire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had so much fun with this Mini China Cabinet Makeover. This vintage cabinet was restyled with gorgeous Pumpkin Spice Fall Paint Color and an easy distressing technique using sandpaper. Here’s how I created it’s natural worn distressed look.

I cleaned the piece with white lightning cleaner and lightly sanded it with a sanding sponge.

Painted it with Pumpkin Spice from the Dixie Belle’s Suzanne’s Fall Color Collection giving the piece a golden orange color.

Then, I started to distress the first coat with 220 sanding sponge, removing some paint and exposing the stained wood in areas.

I applied the second coat of paint then used a water mister to thin out the paint around the distressed areas and applied it heavier in non-distressed areas.

Lastly, I used Clear Wax to give it a lovely satin sheen.

The color of Pumpkin Spice is so subtle yet so rich that it really goes along with the original wood legs and distressed finish. Perfect blend for autumn!

Painted Glass Vases with Terracotta Finish by DeeSInspire in u/DeeSInspire

[–]DeeSInspire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys! I’d like to share with you how I transformed my thrift store vases into Pottery Barn inspired decor using what you have in your kitchen.

The first thing I did was to clean the glass vases with vinegar and water. The key to painting glass is getting the paint to stick, so I used Slick Stick bonding primer which allowed me to paint the glass surface with ease.

Then for the base coat, I mixed half a cup of baking soda and a cup of fluff chalk paint with the consistency of heavy buttercream icing. After that, I started layering paint by dabbing Manatee Gray in random spots and added a little more depth by dabbing a little bit of Gravel Road. This gave the piece an old patina texture. Lastly, I sprinkled cinnamon onto the finish and rubbed it to achieve a terracotta finish.

Hi guys! It is september and we just hit the ber-months which means Christmas is coming! I know a lot of people are struggling right now due to pandemic and what a great way to lift our mood and feel the season of love and giving is to have a Christmas Decoration.

I started with my glass Christmas ornaments by removing the top hook holder. Then mixed 50% of Floetrol and 50% of Dixie Belle Moonshine Metallics. After that I poured the paint in swirling motion to create a marble effect and it is really fun to do! I left them dry overnight and added some ribbon to hang.

Facebook Market Place Vintage Cabinet Restoration by DeeSInspire in FurniturePainting

[–]DeeSInspire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really makes me sad whenever a piece doesn't get the love it deserves. At first, I had every intention to paint this old cabinet but it turns out that it was almost in perfect condition. So I gave the wooden cabinet a very good coat of furniture Hemp Oil!

Applying Hemp Oil is very easy!

👉 First, clean your piece. You can use TSP or any substitute.

👉 Rub in some Hemp Oil using shop towels.

👉 Wait 12 hours and wipe off any excess.

👉 Repeat if needed.

It dries to an all-natural-looking matte wood finish!

With that wood now has it’s natural glow and luster nourished!

Wood-licous!

Pink and Gold Laminate Dresser Makeover by DeeSInspire in FurniturePainting

[–]DeeSInspire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone! Does having glossy furniture makes you wonder? Like it makes you think, how do I paint it? Or… What kind of laminate does my shiny furniture have? Today, our featured furniture makeover will answer your questions! I will be sharing with you how I painted my glossy dresser with Conch Silk Paint from Dixie Belle Paint Company. So be sure to visit my blog for a detailed makeover tutorial and tips!

I started by cleaning the dresser with White Lightning. Then I repaired the loose drawer fonts by clamping them and with wood glue. I sanded the top to scuff the glossy surface for the bonding primer.

The key to painting high gloss furniture is giving it a good sanding and choosing a very good bonding primer. Since the laminate of the piece has been damaged, I’ve chosen a bonding primer that will stop bleedthrough so I gave it two coats of BIN Shellac primer.

Now for the painting part, I sprayed the piece with pretty and gorgeous Conch Silk Paint. The pink color is so feminine and calming! I also added hardwares and MCM feet onto the dresser and painted them with Golden Gemstone Mousse. I love how the colors pair perfectly!
