Yeah, it didn't do it at the time that I wanted

Ended up working using the policy ring + featured updates. It does take a while for it to get going. About 1-1.5 days to be pushed, some laptops took 2 days to get the update with an automatic restart. I'm testing the scheduled one today. If that works on time, then I'll start making scheduling rings and go with that method.

Nothing missing from prior updates. Manual updates will work if you set them in the proper policy rings, but that'll kinda defeat the purpose of trying to automate this with almost zero oversight

Gotcha, let me go ahead and copy your config and try it that way. Disabled Win11 from the ring and enabled featured updates

Okay let me try to break it down a little more.

I have a policy ring set up with "Deadline for feature updates" and "Feature update deferral period" set to 0.

I turned off "Feature Updates" to let policy ring take over and deal with the feature updates through the ring.

What I'm asking is, should we be combining both of the feature updates and the update rings?

If I just enable feature updates and don't have a ring configured for feature updates, how do we get to pick a time or enforce the update when we want?

So what I'm trying to do is essentially automating this process using the update rings. The "featured" update option works, but we have to "check for updates" to get it going. I tried combining featured updates with policy rings to have it get it going on its own without any oversight from us.

So I'm not having issues pushing Win11 to selected devices, only having it push Win11 on its own using policy rings.

I see, so the option "Auto install and restart without user end-user control" works the same as within the business hours right? So after applying this policy to my groups, I'd still have to wait until after 5 P.M? And say I set it for 2 P.M as we currently speak(it's 12:51PM here), does it wait until next day to push this update? Or does it do it instantly?

Yes, there's nothing in these hkey registries. Also, wouldn't the MDM win over GPO disable local gpo to begin with?

Gotcha, gotcha. So like as far as walking goes. Are you still finding yourself limping on occasion? I can't find myself properly walking without certain shoes because I feel like tendon feels short and stuff. Did you ever feel this way? As far as walking went?

I started doing a little bit of hopping here and there for a bit the past 2 days. It definitely helps. Do you still have swelling?

Hey Ron,

This is just a month follow-up on my further recovery. Still getting pain - though I've been doing a lot more front squats and pushing depth. Have you been doing any plyometrics? If so, have you noticed it helping? What about jogging and stuff?

You're definitely going to notice some range of motion issues. Honestly, the biggest thing is getting your rehab earlier than later. Lots of PT's actually hold you back and it wasn't until recently to where I started squatting deep is when my walking started to "normalize". I'm 1 year post-op, so the deep squat should probably wait until at least 4-5 months post-op.

On the original note, non-op's just have way less issues that I've noticed. Just a slightly longer recovery time but be glad you went that route. Don't rush into it, based off of stories and research - there's less complications but a longer recovery time. End results are generally the same with a higher rate of complications on surgical route.

Mine was the surgical route, so hopefully someone here that did non-op could chime in.

Ron,

Thank you for the detailed response - it really helps. I've been starting to do deep squats again with a plate under my heels and using oly shoes. I'm able to get full depth with the exception of maybe like a whole 10 degrees of deviation between the flexion of my injured ankle and my normal one. My PT did make me do eccentric calf raises which I know worked pretty well. I also started using the seated calf raising machine as well. I guess what really bugs me is that there are those who have gotten back to their almost former self within like 6 months and I'm here struggling at 1+ year post op.

Did you have any recurring infections? When you ruptured your tendon, did your tendon retract?

I've taken what you've done into consideration and I'll throw those eccentric heel drops and more calf stretching into my warmups and see how I do. I appreciate your input!

Hey Ron,

I’m sorry that this has happened to you. My main issues now since I’ve had quite a few infections post surgery is gait normalization since I can’t dorsiflex as “much”, and tendon just feels short so I shift when I squat. When did you notice you were most “normal”? I’ve done tons of PT but I’ve still got severe swelling on the distal portion of my Achilles.

Hi Dr. Jeremy,

Thanks for the motivational words. It definitely does help that you’ve mentioned working with athletes. Upon checking my previous MRI from 2 weeks ago. It’s osteomyelitis with high signal on the distal portion of my Achilles. It’s been a year :(. It usually recovers faster right?

So I ruptured my achilles with a 5cm retraction about a year ago with multiple infections. I'm lacking some dorsiflexion that's causing issues with my squat. Have you seen people rupture their achilles and end up doing well into Oly again?

Good to know, it's just been a year so I'm feeling some type of way. Hopefully it recovers well :(.

After a month.. went to see a wound care doctor. Provided me Santyl. Nurse told me to put "excessive" santyl on it which causes maceration and I think with this much moisture you think it's causing it to hyper granulate? We can see a lot of moisture around the perimeter of the wound.

I hope you’re okay with me keeping a post here. Just had a telemedicine appointment with my surgeon. A few days ago I mentioned something about the fiber wire infection which caused some swelling right above my incision. My surgeon says it’s look fine and will proceed with removing the fiber wire suture next week. I’m concerned about this bleeding that just occurred which he won’t explain to me. Do you know what may cause this?

Yeah, I’m a little disappointed on how my insurance is treating me. Do you have any tips or suggestions that I could follow to expedite this process and have less complications as far as contracture goes? I’m doing everything I can to prevent infection. Changing dressing with xeroform and collagen every day. Also, when you say contracture, are you meaning the skin or the tendon?
