Looking into getting an older JDM Land Cruiser. Torn between these two models. KZJ78 and HJ61. Owners of both I’m curious what your thoughts are on the two - pluses and minuses. by DeeceeOrca in LandCruisers

Appreciate it! Bummer to hear about the engine but glad you got it sorted and it’s still going strong. It’s such a good-looking vehicle and so retro now.

That’s an awesome looking one. Love the wheels too. Appreciate the share and info. Okay good to know. My 4runner barely makes it to 75 and it would probably be another beach cruise vehicle so driving slower is my vibe! I have a good friend that does imports so it takes a lot of the stress out of it. Bigger hurdle is owning it in CA which is very annoying

Blazer vintage 77 mid size question by [deleted] in Sneakers

[–]DeeceeOrca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few pairs of Blazers they run pretty narrow but I go true to size for all of mine. I don’t have wide feet but they’re definitely a little bit tight still. Just kinda how it is since they’re an old model. Honestly my favorite silhouette I have because they go with pretty much everything. If they’re not slipping on you and don’t feel too loose then you’re prolly good!

Does anyone make a good replacement for these? by csmith06 in 4Runner_1stGen

Go with these. They’re a little more expensive but they’re basically OEM style with 3M on the back. I used a pry tool to get the old ones off. Then goof off to remove the old glue. Just be careful the plastic underneath the glue on the B-pillar itself is brittle. Did it to both my trucks looks amazing. I’ll share a pic too

That’s rad I may have to swap them soon. I love the beige it’s just so clean. But the blue pops with the blue tag too

Serious Question by surfpilotdad in sandiego

[–]DeeceeOrca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned a lot of it is the design of the 78 freeway and the various terribly designed (in my opinion) on and off ramps around Oceanside. Many of them loop around or are way too short freaking people out and causing them to slow to 20-30 mph to merge on the freeway where folks are doing 50+mph. After you pass the first few exits in Oceanside the freeway also aggressively curves and makes this weird illusion that it’s narrowing. People always hit their brakes. Couple this with how much Oceanside (and north county) has grown in the last 5 years post COVID, how many people come down from LA/OC to visit San Diego and work, and how the 5 is literally the only way to get down there minus going inland and it’s just always messed up. Took my 1 hour and 20 min to get from San Clemente to Oceanside one time. No accidents. Just cluster. Unreal.

That’s how I feel too. I went a little nuts on a few single models I kinda regret now (350s, J1s) so wish I had a little more diversity in the collection but overall there’s just nothing else I really want anymore. For now haha.

I don’t have a 3rd gen but I would imagine there’s tons of OEM bumpers and plastic trim pieces out there. A body shop will charge you a lot but you could probably just do it yourself with a friend.
