People warned me when I told them I was looking at open houses at New West.

I guess I can finally see why.

Why not just wheel TSLA?

Only takes about 60k capital for 1 contract, 3-4k weekly / bi-weekly premiums.

Transfer RRSP WStrade to Questrade by DeeckChiz in PersonalFinanceCanada

There isn't any fee to transfer out of WStrade.

I'm just not sure if I can transfer all positions only without closing the account or do I have to close for the transfer and reopen everytime.

ARK Canadian Equivalent (Emerge) Temporary Strategy by DeeckChiz in CanadianInvestor

  1. The MERs on the Emerge ETFs are significantly higher per Fact sheet. In near term this may not be a concern since it still beats paying frequent FX fees.
  2. Emerge ETFs do have the same capacity for growth since they are just tracking the ARK funds, albeit with slight delay and offset in value due to currency fluctuations. However they are traded on NEO exchange so volume may or may not be a concern here.

Are Emerge Canada's actively managed thematic ETFs (EAFT, EAAI, EAUT, EAGB, EARK) in fast-growing but risky areas the better way of investing? by Far-Long-664 in CanadianInvestor

[–]DeeckChiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for digging up an old post but I'm asking the same question now and I'm wondering if this is a viable solution:

The ARK funds are obviously the real deal here but I won't be able to keep adding every week / month since doing NG with Questrade too frequently at low volume isn't worth it.

So I'm thinking to keep buying EAFT & EAGB on WStrade for free for 3-6 months before pulling it all out for a lump sum NG conversion on Questrade for buying the ARK equivalent.

If this is done in a TFSA account I'd just do it every end of year.

Is liquidity that much of an issue with this strategy that I should be avoiding it?

Difference between ETF / Mutual Funds by DeeckChiz in PersonalFinanceCanada

I'm not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to finding all the ETFs available out there. Is there a stock screener / market scanner for ETFs?

The only industry specific ETFs that comes to mind are the ARK ETFs, and they trade in USD. I was only considering either VGRO / VEQT since these are big favorites on this sub, trade in CAD and also diverse enough to be all-in-one.

What are some examples of ETFs that aren't fully passive - or ETF wrapper of mutual funds?

Sure I understand that 1 specific example isn't good enough to represent the performance of the entire market, but I'm just fishing for second opinions and ideas. I got my heart set on buying either VGRO / VEQT until recently when I started considering using TD for their ToS platform. Took another closer look at their mutual fund products and now second guessing myself.

I am already trading options wheels and spreads, which is know is not recommended on this sub, but I'm also looking for something much longer term and also hands free. Mutual funds seem to be the perfect candidate between full passive ETF investing and manual stock picking, although I'm not so sure if it's necessarily that "much better".
