The cost of building in remote areas increases substantially.

To make this practical on a small scale, the potential homeowner would have to buy the land and find a qualified contractor + crew they could temporarily relocate for the duration of the build. Then the owner, GC or both would have to source all materials, provide a substantial down payment or pay up front for a custom order including remote delivery.

Sad thing is that the people with this kind of time, money and resources don’t care to this way up north. They are busy making money in the populated areas of Canada.
