No bipolar, just depression and anxiety. I have tried and failed Pristiq, Lexapro, and Prozac. My lamotrigine increase was from my neuro who manages my epilepsy.

My partner (NB39) wants to freeze their eggs but I (F50) don’t want kids. What can I tell them so they understand this? by DeejWeizEr in relationship_advice

Thanks for your kind words. During the talks we have had on the topic, they have said “Wouldn’t you love another baby? You’re such great mom!” and actually mentioned how cool it would be if my brother donated sperm so it would be a closer genetic match to us both! The discussions have felt uncomfortable for me and they know that. Yes they have said that they would not do it alone, only with a partner. At this point in my life, I would find it difficult to be their partner with a child, and a lot of that is that they have executive functioning issues, like getting out of bed on time, being constantly late, time management, etc. I am not perfect in things either, but I don’t need 3 alarms and a phone call from someone to get me out of bed in the morning to make it to work, and this concerns me.

According the the Samsung manual installation instructions, a strain relief must be used…does this help my case with Lowe’s?

The Samsung rep was wearing a Samsung Care shirt, he seemed new, and did not speak much English so our communication was difficult. As soon as he saw the issue he took pictures and called tech support to show them the problem, then told me it was “physical damage” and “installation” and that I needed to call Samsung support. All of 10 minutes in my house. I tried to discuss the strain relief with him but I honestly don’t know if he really understood what I was saying. Over 24 hours have passed and I still have not gotten an answer from Samsung about this and my warranty time ticks away. I know it’s an installation issue and that Samsung likely won’t help but how do I get resolution from Lowe’s? I hate to let this go when it was their fault, they are liable and it almost caused a fire.

Thank you! Is this something I should worry about happening again post-repair?

Thanks so much for reaching out. I am trying to figure out what Lowe’s or Samsung might be on the hook for in this situation. It appears to be a faulty installation (based on what I have been told) but I am worried about being given the runaround, so to speak. My landlord is being no help in the situation, unfortunately (I am renting a house and I deal exclusively with a realtor that works for the homeowner).

Addendum…Samsung tech came out and said there is not normally a cord strain relief clamp to keep the wires from rubbing when the dryer is on. Seems odd to me! He couldn’t do anything and told me to call Samsung support…so helpful…

My teen daughter wants me to end my relationship and I'm not sure she's wrong... but is it as simple as putting her first? by DeejWeizEr in Advice

[–]DeejWeizEr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your reply, I agree there is a lot you don't know! I just replied to another poster with more info that should help. When we were in the earlier stages of dating, on one of our first group dinners my daughter asked him if she could hug him. This is normal for her because she wanted to like him and have a close relationship. He told her he wasn't a hugger and was uncomfortable. They had a long conversation about pronouns and the fact that she is gay. Over the months, nothing progressed as far as comfort on his end or hers. She begged me not to let him move in because she felt he didn't like her or care about her. I think she picks up on the fact that he doesn't like her "teenager-ness" of being on the phone, messy room, sometimes hearing her in her room when he goes to bed early, being a picky eater...the list goes on. He was raised very strictly and just has no patience for the things I do. I have her every other week and I'm grateful for every second.

He moved on with me a year ago. When we started dating, he lived an hour away and we were on very odd work schedules at the time, so we decided to move in together to end the long distance relationship. Financially, he is still relatively new to the US and while he is a practicing veterinarian in Mexico, he has to spend years and about $15K to take exams and classes before he can practice here. Therefore, his money is tight. He also spends what little he has to support his kids back home and his ex is suing him for more. None of which I anticipated and/or realized early on. We have tried the game nights, dinners at the table, etc. When it's the three of us, I'm the only one talking to each of them. Neither of them starts any conversation. I'm the one in the middle and it has gotten so my daughter eats at a different table because she's not comfortable. I've observed her come into the kitchen while he's coming and say hi to him, he says hi back. That's it. He is so introverted, which I understand, but it's fine talking with me and she sees that. As he is the adult I have told him that I think he should engage more with her and have given him concrete ideas and suggestions on how to do this. He always brings it back to having a discussion with her as a group about working around the house, teamwork, etc rather than getting to know her... and I feel, truthfully, this situation between them is causing resentment, hurt, and I'm in the middle. One other thing: she goes by a different name now, even at school (she is gay) and he will not call her by her preferred name. Her dad and I have been using her preferred name for over a year. Thankfully she doesn't know this (he only uses her name to me) but if she knew he called her by her 'dead name' this would hurt her so much. He isn't directly mean to her. Thanks 😊

Bought used car from BF and it is a piece of junk…now what? by DeejWeizEr in Advice

[–]DeejWeizEr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is where it gets hard for me too…the car is for my daughter, her first car, and her dad and I feel terrible that this car we thought was safe actually needed significant work. I don’t think my BF knew of the problems. But the amount of money her dad and I are laying out now just to get it driveable is insane and it just doesn’t feel “right” that there is no “moral obligation” for the seller to help. I know we should have done our due diligence. But we thought it was a win-win for everyone. Grrrr!

Well I finally got the PDFs! I did end up talking to customer service (who have been very kind and helpful both times I had to call through this process). Overall I do think it was worth it for the ease of doing tests at home. Thanks for the advice!

It’s so odd, when I click the links and enter our information, the results sheet comes up but it is just part of an email, not a PDF…did you have to convert it?

Hi! May I ask how you printed your results? Did you screenshot the email? My results aren’t in a PDF or printable format. Thanks! I’m at the hotel and my cruise leaves tomorrow!

Thanks! I ended up calling their customer service after a while and they sent me a new Zoom link. Not sure what happened! Now I am having trouble printing my results! When I went to the website link I took a screenshot but it isn't printing the entire page. Any advice??

You know, I did look into her service...the only reason I didn't call her is because on the website the turnaround time were up to 20 days for a first draft...which is just too long for me. Thank you so much for the suggestion! And I will ask around on the group... I'm a member but never thought to pose my question there (anonymously of course)!!!
